Hot Dialer Instructions

The Hot Dialer will automatically pulse dial to a stored number when the telephone connected to it is taken off-
hook. The information below outlines the steps to connect the telephone line to the Hot Dialer and gives
instructions on how to program the number it is to dial to.

Connecting the Telephone Line to the Hot Dialer

1. Locate the two terminal screws on the Hot Dialer’s circuit board and slightly
loosen each screw, (if the unit is a surface mount, you will need to open the top
cover in order to get to the circuit board.)
2. Locate the telephone wire pair for the telephone line being used and carefully
splice the outer coating of each wire so that approx. ½” of copper wire is exposed.
3. Connect each wire from the telephone wire pair to each terminal screw by
wrapping the exposed copper section around the terminal screw and then tightening
the screw.

To Change your 4-Digit Personal Code:

1. Connect a regular telephone to the Hot Dialer.
2. Within two seconds of taking the telephone off-hook, dial 10 2222 (factory preset
personal code), wait for a dial tone.
3. Dial 1040, wait for a dial tone.
4. Enter any 4-digit personal code of your choice.
5. Wait for a ‘beep’ to verify the entry was taken, then hang up.
• We strongly recommend that you WRITE DOWN YOUR PERSONAL CODE & keep it in a safe place. The
only way to recover from a lost personal code is to return your Data Port Dialer to the factory for a complete
reset.

To Program the Hot Dialer’s outpulse Number:

1. Connect a regular telephone to the Hot Dialer.
2. Within two seconds of taking the telephone off-hook, dial 10 + your 4-digit personal code, wait for a dial tone.
3. Dial 1034, wait for a dial tone.
4. Enter the number you want the Hot Dialer to dial to as you would normally dial it, followed by the # key. This
number will be called every time the telephone connected to it is taken off-hook.
• If a 1 and / or the area code is required when calling the number from the location of the Hot Dialer, make sure
you include the 1 and / or the area code before the number.

To Erase the the Hot Dialer’s outpulse Number:

1. Connect a regular telephone to the Hot Dialer.
2. Within two seconds of taking the telephone off-hook, dial 10 + your 4-digit personal code, wait for a dial tone.
3. Dial 1021, wait for a confirmation tone and a new dial tone.
4. Hang up the phone. The old number is now erased. The Hot Dialer is now ready to receive a new number to
dial.
