And there were two

sleep walking. I can prove that by the many times I have had knots on my head from running in to the bathroom door. I got up a few nights ago and stumbled in to the bathroom and somehow got on the pot right. The trash can is sitting right by the commode and has a lid on it. I had re-potted some of my house plants that day, which was quite an experience with a frog. Well, this night as I sat there in my semi-coma state I kept hearing something. Thump, thump, thump. I thought I must be hearing something, so I just finished my business. After the paper work was done I turned to lift the lid on the trash can and heard the thump, thump again. Sounded like it was behind the trash can, so I looked. Nothing there. I started to raise the lid again and this time heard, thump, and saw that the lid on the trash can was moving. Now heck fire this was getting spooky. I know I didnt just imagine the lid was moving every time I heard the thump. Anyway being still half asleep I just went ahead and lifted the lid to dispose of my paper. There is a night light in the bathroom so I hadnt turned on the ceiling light. As I peered in to the trash can something hit right on top of my head. Now I was fully awake and startled. I could feel something moving on my head and I didnt like it one bit. I jumped up from the pot and was preparing for a swift flight out of there when something slid right on down my face. It felt cold and I reached up to swipe it out of my face and it landed on my bare feet. I did the watusi over to the light switch and turned it on. There right between my feet was a slimy old frog looking up at me with those bug eyes. Well, let me tell you I came unglued. I put the seat down on the pot and got up there fast. There I stood screeching and screaming to the top of my lungs. Now Don cant hear much of anything when he goes to sleep at night, so he just slept on. Couldnt have woke him with a bomb. I was trapped as sure as shooting. Wasnt about to get down and go out of that bathroom. Heck fire no. I knew Don would get up sooner or later for a trip to the bathroom so I just waited. That durned old frog was not moving much, but now and then he would jump over a little way which just terrified me. I was just sure it was gonna jump up there with me. After what seemed like hours I heard Don coming. Well its about time I thought. He opened the door and there I stood on the pot. That startled him and he backed up a little then said What are ya doing up there? Just shut up and get that durn frog outta here, was my answer. He was aggravated, but he caught it and was going to put it in the trash can. No, I slapped his hand and the frog peed on him. He was madder than an old wet hen. I told him to take it outside and he balked. I finally convinced him that it would get out of the trash again. He grumbled all the way to the door, but I followed him to make sure it was put outside. Oh, my gosh, it took me forever to go back to sleep. I could still feel that thing in my hair for a long time. In case you are wondering LITTLE ROCK This week is School Choice Week in Arkansas and across the country. Said Andrew Campanella, president of the National School Choice Week: We hope families across the state will use National School Choice Week as an opportunity to learn more about the educational options available to their children and to begin researching options available to their children. If families want to switch schools, January is the time to start the search process.

Town of Denning has changed the time of their meetings to 6 p.m. Still on the 2nd Monday of the month.
LET THE BIBLE SPEAK
by John Brasseaux The Voice of Majesty Do the daily occurrences in your life ever raise questions? Has God ever answered them? The Patriarch Job had questions. He suffered terribly and desired answers. At one point in his sufferings, he said, Oh, that the Almighty would answer me, that my Prosecutor had written a book! Surely I would carry it on my shoulder, and bind it on me like a crown; I would declare to Him the number of my steps; like a prince I would approach Him (Job 31:35-37). Job had made some demands of God. Call, and I will answer; or let me speak, then You respond to me (Job 13:22). When God finally confronts Job, does Job approach God like a prince? Instead of answering Jobs questions, God asked Job more than seventy questions. Does he answer them? Is he able? After God asks His questions, Job is forced to respond: Behold, I am vile; What shall I answer You? I lay my hand over my mouth. Once I have spoken, but I will not answer; Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further (Job 40:35). God had answered Job out of the whirlwind, Who is this who...darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me (Job 38:1-3). Questions cover four chapters (38, 39, 40, 41) ranging from Gods wisdom, His creative and sustaining power, to rain, snow, frost and ice. But God says zero concerning Jobs suffering or sin and evil or the injustices in life. What might be the point of Gods questions? Human wisdom fails in providing answers to lifes problems. If one cannot comprehend or control the natural world, how could he hope to comprehend Gods ways with man? They suggest that God is so far above man in power, wisdom, intelligence and purpose that even though He would reveal certain things pertaining to our Why?, man would be too limited to understand them. See Romans 11:33-35. Have you ever questioned Gods ways with you? Have you ever wanted to argue with God? Perhaps God has a few questions for you! Perhaps we would be ready to say, like Job, What shall I answer You? I lay my hand over my mouth (Job 40:4). Shall the one who contends with the Almighty correct Him? (Job 40:2). Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become His counselor? (Rom. 11:33-34).
