Lightning %olt finds truth in curiosity. We boldly endure the wild winter, not by seeking rest, but by living beyond comfort in a sustained state of adventure. This year we take the island to the mainland by blending hawaiian sentiment with the time tested glory of the magical pacific northwest. We also look to praia do norte, in nazar the home of mountainous cold swells on the western coast of europe. The stone masters of the 70s and the legendary men and women who slide mountains have inspired our mixing of sediment and sea. Our colors take their queues from the deep coastal american earth tones, north sea blues, deep forest greens, and the sun-washed patinas of a by-gone era. We sought out durable and comfortable fabrics, intended for traveling light and warm and for a seamless adaption to all climates. The collection hinges on an ideal of unpretentious utilitarian design. Our material selection includes soft and comfortable fleece; ultra-light waterproof nylon for our french goose down insulated jackets; heavy and durable shetland and melton wool fabrics for jackets and knits; cozy flannels in variable weights; cashmere, merino and lambs-wool blends using quality yarns made in italy; and hefty canvas twills and corduroy made in the usa. By taking queues from great legends of the 1970s transition era, its surfers, climbers, ruck-sackers, restless wayfarers, and totem chasing roustabouts, we are proud to announce FW14 as our ode to the anti-lucid battle cry of the unwashed wanderer. We head north and west - looking beyond what we see plainly in front of us and towards the unknowable void.
