IMS Manager Compliance Base will be Head Office at Benson, Nr. Wallingford, Oxon but the role will require travel across all Grundon sites. Compliance Manager October 2010 Minimum of 35 per week although the nature and seniority of the role requires flexibility in terms of hours worked.

To manage the development, implementation, maintenance and monitoring of the Grundon Integrated Management System (IMS) to meet the standards of PAS99, ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001. Key Duties Development and implementation of the Grundon Integrated Management System (IMS) to meet the standards of PAS99, ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001. Ongoing Maintenance of the IMS to ensure that it is current; in relation to both legislation and operations. Interpret legislative information to translate into practical workable documentation for the IMS. Achieve and maintain certification of the IMS to PAS99, ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 standards. Act as primary coordinator for the external certification body to ensure the IMS standards are achieved and maintained. Liaise with the operational managers to support the development, delivery and maintenance of the IMS at the local level. Manage the system to ensure that work activities required under the IMS are completed on time and in the manner originally intended. Manage, organise and monitor the IMS audit programme. Undertake compliance audits, both formally as part of the audit programme and informally. Organise and distribute the documentation for the IMS Management Review. Ensure the SHE system is updated with all documentation with appropriate document number. Work proactively with the Compliance team to ensure that a system is developed and maintained that meets the requirements of the Health and Safety and Environmental Teams. Report on the performance of the IMS to directors, senior managers and other interested parties. Identify training needs related to the IMS, with course either developed in-house or sourced externally. Write regular articles for both the Grundonian and Hard Targets magazine. Communicate with Grundon customers, to provide any requested information or documentation in relation to present or potential contracts. Any other duties, such as ad hoc projects, as requested by the Compliance Manager that are within

the skills and capabilities of the jobholder. Ensure full compliance with all Company policies and procedures including health and safety and employment.

Experience Minimum of three years experience controlling management systems, which ideally meet ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 standards. Experience of working across a multi-site, service orientated business. Experience in the development, management and administration of audit programmes. Preferably a knowledge and understanding of the waste management industry. Qualifications Educated to Degree or Diploma level or equivalent. Lead Auditor Qualification for appropriate standard(s). Key Skills / Knowledge In depth working knowledge and understanding of Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety Systems certified to ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001. Ability to interpret and translate legislative information Excellent written skills that can be adapted to meet business needs. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deal with all levels of stakeholders. Computer and IT literate, including a good working knowledge of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Visio. Ability to lead and direct IMS activities, to ensure that initiatives are achieved. Strong team player. Dynamic, energetic and self-driven. Ability to prioritise and organise work. Key Performance Indicators Development and maintenance of the Grundon IMS. Development of a system that reflects the Grundon business and the systems developed therein. Achievement and maintenance of certification to ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001. Implementation of successful audit programme across the business. General improvement in level of compliance throughout the business.
