Because of the health benefits of good nutrition (all our hot lunches are heart- & diabetes-friendly), Meals on Wheels keeps people out of nursing homes longer. Our program allows our recipients to remain somewhat independent in their own homes. A year of meals costs less than one day in the hospital. But it is more than just a meal...it is a connection with people who care. For many recipients, our volunteer is the only person they will see that day.
