This Months message: The Divine Mission of Jesus Christ: Good Shepherd (Ensign, Feb., 2014) Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd, taught: What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? ! I say unto you, that ! joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth (Luke 15:4, 7). As we come to understand that Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd, our desire increases to follow His example and serve those in need. Jesus said: I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. ! And I lay down my life for the sheep (John 10:1415). Because of Christs Atonement, none of us will ever be so lost that we cannot find our way home (see Luke 15). President Thomas S. Monson said, Ours is the responsibility to care for the flock. ! May we each step up to serve.

Presidency Message
Someone has written, Love is a verb. It requires doingnot just saying and thinking. The test is in what one does, how one acts, for love is conveyed in word and deed. This month as you think about love and its many aspects remember the following counsel from Marvin J. Ashton: We must at regular and appropriate intervals speak and reassure others of our love and the long time it takes to prove it by our actions. Real love does take time. The Great Shepherd had the same thoughts in mind when he taught, If ye love me, keep my commandments (John 14:15; and If ye love me feed my sheep (John 21:16;). Love demands action, if it is to be continuing. Love is a process. Love is not a declaration. Love is not an announcement. Love is not a passing fancy. Love is not an expediency. Love is not a convenience. If ye love me, keep my commandments and If ye love me feed my sheep are Godgiven proclamations that should remind us we can often best show our love through the processes of feeding and keeping. (Love Takes Time, October 1975 General Conference),

The 10 Ward Relief Society Theme for 2014 is: Becoming a Zion People. And the Lord called his people Zion, because they were of one heart and one mind, and dwelt in righteousness; and there was no poor among them. Moses 7:18. As important as it is to have this vision in mind, defining and describing Zion will not bring it about. That can only be done through consistent and concerned daily effort by every single member of the Church. No matter what the cost in toil or sacrifice, we must do it. - President Spencer W. Kimball
