Explanation of the Semester System Transcript 1.0 Academic Evaluation System: For students who entered Lahore Garrison University in 2009 and later, academic evaluation is based on the letter grading system. Grades without any point assignments are: W stands for Withdrawn; WF stands for Forced Withdrawl; I stands for Incomplete; Df stands for Deficit subject in case of transferred students and Tr stands foe transferred subject. 2.0 Minimum Requirements: The minimum duration of the undergraduate degree programs shall not be less than four academic years in case of Computer Science, Business Administration and Commerce. The total minimum credit hours required for the award of B.Sc. and Bachelors degree is 140 in case of four academic year program. The total minimum credit hours required for the award of M.Sc./M.Phil. degree are 30. Academic Achievement Measure: Students academic achievement in each semester is reflected by the Semester Grade Point Average (GPA) and the overall performance is reflected by the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA), both out of a maximum of 4.00 Subject Repeat Policy: Repeated subjects are shown with a (R) as suffix to the grade earned. In case of repetition of a subject, the new grade earned replaces the previous grade, whether high or low. Parts of a Subject: Some subjects have to parts. (Th) as suffix to subject name represents theory part and (Pr) represents Practical part of a subject on the transcript. Bachelors Degree Qualification Requirements: A minimum CGPA of 2.0 with all W grade subjects repeated, if any, and without any F grade for the prescribed subjects offered during all semesters of a degree program shall be required for the award of degree. Students shall qualify for a Degree with Honors if they satisfy the following conditions: (a) Have earned a CGPA of 3.70 or above out of a maximum of 4.00; (b) Have not repeated a course; (c) have not withdrawn from a course; and (d) Have not earned an F grade during the course of study. M.Sc./M.Phill. Degree Qualification requirements: A minimum CGPA of 3.0 in minimum of 30 credit hours without any W and F grade in core subjects shall be required for the award of degree. CGPA and Percentage Equivalence: CGPA and Percentage systems are two different systems of assessment and no equivalence as such can be specified. In CGPA system, grades reflect relative position of the student in the class whereas Percentage system is an absolute grading system reflecting actual marks earned in the examination. Language of Instruction: The language of instruction at the University is English.
