USING THE UPDATE

Since the publication of Codex Battlezone: Cityfight, the

Warhammer 40,000 rules have been updated. This
document explains how to use the Cityfight rules in
conjunction with these changes.
General Rules
Use the Cityfight rules as stated they continue to take
precedence over the revised Warhammer 40,000 rules
in Cityfight games with the following exceptions.
If you see a reference to a vehicle being hull down
the effect is as described under Obscured Targets on p.
69 of the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook.
Follow the Cityfight rules when firing Template, Blast
and Large Blast weapons these continue to take
precedence over the weapon type rules in the
Warhammer 40,000 rule book.
In Cityfight, models which are within 6 of the enemy
can attack in close combat. These models are
considered to be Locked. Attacks are divided between
opponents as described in Cityfight. This rule means that
Independent Characters who have joined a unit cannot
be attacked individually.
When a unit is attacked and has models with different
Toughness or armour saves, you should follow the
majority rules from the revised edition of Warhammer
40,000 rather than the method detailed on p. 15 of
Codex Battlezone: Cityfight.
When attacking a Dreadnought or other walker in close
combat, you always use its frontal armour. Cityfight
includes a rule that allows any roll to hit of 6 to be
resolved against the Dreadnoughts rear armour. This
rule no longer applies.
The revised Warhammer 40,000 rulebook allows
grenades to be used in close combat against enemy
walkers. This rule should also be used in Cityfight.
Codex Modifications in Cityfight
Codex: Assassins (i.e., Codex: Daemonhunters and
Codex: Witch Hunters)
Assassins may only be used as part of an Inquisitorial
force. The modifications detailed in Cityfight are applied
just the same.
Codex: Chaos Space Marines
Ignore the reference to Beasts of Nurgle.
The reference to Stream of Corruption now relates to
Wind of Chaos.
The Ether Lance is a template weapon.
Codex: Imperial Guard
Only full-strength squads can be sub-divided.
The Inferno Cannon still counts as a template weapon.
Scenarios
Where a scenario has variable game length, play a
minimum of 6 turns and then play additional turns as
explained in the revised Warhammer 40,000 rulebook.
It is recommended that you use the system for
Campaign Experience detailed in the revised
Warhammer 40,000 rulebook.
