WorldGSM Village Site

DETAILS
SOLUTION TO CONNECT THE UN-CONNECTED WHERE NO VIABLE BASE STATION COULD EVER BE EXTENDED
WorldGSM with Add-on Broadband is the first of its own kind network designed from the ground up, to serve rural populations for developing markets, and that too in a profitable way. We call this approach as Microtelecom and it is going to help billions of people make their first phone calls. With an additional advantage to access the Internet via Broadband. The WorldGSM with Add-on Broadband Village Site is an important part of the overall VNL deployment strategy. That extends the Voice & Broadband services to remote and Rural areas, where its nearly impossible to deploy and maintain them. While our Rural Site is a ground-based tower, the Village Site is designed for rooftop or ground deployment in villages where additional capacity is required. Unlike traditional base stations, the Village Site needs no shelter, air conditioning, mains power, generator or diesel fuel. Inspite its designed to be carted to site & easy to assemble to get fully-functional for GSM with Broadband services, business within few hours. Voice & Broadband was never so viable.

TYPICAL DEPLOYMENT
CASCADING STAR ARCHITECTURE: SEPARATING CAPACITY FROM COVERAGE
In a rural scenario, most of the traffic stays within the local area. 80-90% of the coverage area does not require high capacity; it is mainly a coverage requirement. However, around 10-20% of the covered area will require comparatively more capacity to provide a satisfactory quality of service. The VNL WorldGSM Cascading Star Architecture is an incremental rollout solution that separates capacity from coverage. It poses less risk to mobile and internet service provider operators in areas where traditional GSM and ISP cannot offer a solution to the problem with an acceptable return on investment. It features an adapted hub-and-spoke design, optimized for rural deployments. It provides an extremely low-cost approach to enter a new rural market, and then scale up as demand grows.

VNL Cascading Star Architecture, GSM and Broadband

* Distance depending on terrain

The key elements in a WorldGSM with add on Broadband rollout are: Rural Site Solution (RBTS Backhaul & Power) Village Site Solution (VBTS Backhaul & Power) BSC and OMC WorldGSM with Broadband is typically deployed as a cascade of stars. Each star has a Rural Site at its center, with Village Sites deployed around it. These stars are cascaded from the periphery of any existing GSM with Broadband network, extending its reach. Each cascade is anchored by a WorldGSM MSC (optional) and a WorldGSM BSC, co-located at the end node with an additional Broadband Wireless Gateway (BWG) for Internet Service Provider (ISP) of the host network. Its fast, its simple and it drives CAPEX and OPEX to new lows.
