PATTERN HEALTH PERCEPTION & HEALTH MANAGEMENT

BEFORE When sick, patient goes to faith healers. Uses herbal medications thats not FDA accredited. Lifts and carries heavy equipments. Do house chores as an exercise.

AFTER Consult to the licensed doctor and uses prescribed medicines.

INTERPRETATION Patients perception is already knowledgeable about the safe & proper way on how to medicate herself. Since, patient undergone surgical operation, she was encourage ambulatory and light exercise as patient will be discharge. Patients activity is affected/ altered especially the sleep pattern due to fatigue and discomfort experienced. Believes that pain felt is due to post operative experience. Can respond to stimuli verbally and physically. Patient is on a nothing by mouth status after post surgical operation, thus has the high risk of dehydration. ACTION and EXERCISES

A patient was advised to have a complete bed rest until the wound heals after the surgery.

SLEEP and REST

Patient was able to rest and take a nap at free time

Patient experienced restlessness and fatigue after surgery.

COGNITION and METABOLISM

Patient has no sensory deficit responds to stimuli.

Patient claimed pain to be acute as caused by surgical operation. Felt pain around the surgical site. After operation, patient is NPO and been infused w/ D5NM x KVO regulated @20 gtt/min. After operation, patient has FBC

NUTRITIONAL METABOLISM

Eats more of fruits and vegetable. Eats her meals thrice a day.

ELIMINATION

Prior to admission, patient voids 5-6

ROLES & RELATIONSHIPS

Patient said, nothing change towards her relationship with her husband, wellsupported and loved by family. Take a nap and rest during the postoperative days, complete bed rest.

Despite patients condition, the support of her family is very strong and the more she felt closeness towards her them.

COPING STRESS TOLERANCE

Copes up stress by doing household chores and watching television or read entertainment papers. Married for 9 years, never had child, menarche started 13 y.o regularly, consumes 4 sanitary pads every first day of menstruation, positive (+) for dysmenorrhea.

Verbalizes desires to recover. Able to accept situation by cooperating with the medical advices and procedures.

SEXUALITY & REPRODUCTION

Undergone surgical operation regarding reproductive system abnormalities.

Patient sexuality and reproduction is her chief complain due to infertility and has endometriosis.

VALUES & BELIEFS

Patient was born catholic. Had strong faith to God.

Before and after surgery she always brings with her the rosary. And due to patients admission to hospital, she was not able to attend the Sunday masses.

The admission and the surgery did not interfere and changed her spiritual beliefs but rather keeping her strong.
