Technical Writing Experience

Produced a training manual for incoming Medicine Technicians that is used in all Legacy House Facilities. To create the manual I used personal work experience as a medicine technician, as well as performed interviews of qualified staff to gather the necessary information. Experience editing technical documents. Completed course work in editing and gained hands on experience editing other technical writers work. Able to interview staff for information to create technical documents. Collaborated with a team to create a style guide based on the Chicago Manual of Style. As a team we reviewed the companys existing documents and decided on the information that would be most beneficial to be included in the style guide. We also met with management to ensure the information provided was accurate and concise. Worked with management to edit documents to make them more usable for the company. As the writer, I was able to rewrite sections of the documents that were unclear, and edit and delete sections that were out of date or unnecessary to the document. Wrote a research report that was submitted to management to change company policies. Knowledge in using social media for business promotion. I worked with the nurse that supervises the medicine technicians and CNAs to determine the proper training procedures that needed to be included and interviewed current staff members to get information that would be useful in training material for new staff members. Wrote policies based on state regulations. To gather the necessary information I researched the regulations and collaborated with the nurse to make the documents usable for the facility. Under the direction of the management, I rewrote and edited existing documents to increase usability. To do this I met with management and we identified the problems with the original documents and determined how they could be more usable.
