LNG, or liquefied natural gas, is natural gas that is cooled to -260 F (162 C) until it becomes a liquid and then stored at essentially atmospheric pressure. Converting natural gas to LNG, a process that reduces its volume by about 600 times allows it to be transported internationally via cargo ships. Once delivered to its destination in the U.S. or abroad, the LNG is warmed back into its original gaseous state so that it can be used just like existing natural gas supplies, by sending it through pipelines for distribution to homes and businesses.li LNG demand and production continuously grows. Qatar is now the biggest LNG exporter with the production of 77 million tonnes per annum. Australia, Indonesia and West African countries will lead on the additional new LNG plants in the next 5 to 10 years. This requires lots of dedicated engineers and operation team who comprehend on LNG processes. Advance Course on LNG Process and Operation will provides about all facets of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry. It focuses on presenting a thorough understanding of LNG liquefaction and regasification facility operations from the process side. The course also includes overview on the worldwide LNG market and trade as well as the commercial issue. It will then review the major equipment and unit specific to the LNG industry and supporting plant operations such as pre-treatment, natural gas liquids (NGL) recovery, liquefaction and utility systems. Also covers the LNG storage, loading and shipping. Length: 3 days 25-27 September 2013 Location: Yogyakarta, Indonesia
