The Noise Project Chichester (NPC) EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES POLICY CODE OF CONDUCT

1): Introduction:
The Equal Opportunities Policy consists of three sections: a Statement of Intent, a Code of Practice and a Code of Conduct (this document). Together they combine to create the NPC Equal Opportunities Policy. The Code of Conduct will be given to all existing and new committee members, to all the leaders of all sites,to all volunteers and to all representatives with the requirement that they adhere to the NPC principles and ethos during the organisation and delivery of all projects on all sites.

2): Code of Conduct


All committee members, site leaders, volunteers and representatives of NPC will look to adhere to and implement the ethos, principles and values of NPC as a multi-denominational Christian entity. This includes the commitment to not pass on any material, information or personal beliefs to committee members, site leaders, volunteers, representatives or users in an inappropriate way. All committee members, site leaders, volunteers and representatives of NPC are required to act as party political neutral during the organisation and delivery of all projects on all sites. This includes not canvassing, communicating, promoting or delivering any political or party political material or information. All individuals will be treated with respect. At all times peoples feelings will be valued and respected. Language or humour that people f ind offensive will not be used for example; sexist or racist jokes or terminology, swearing or blaspheming. No-one will be harassed, abused, intimidated or victimised on account of, race, colour, religion or creed, ethnic or national origins, nationality (including citizenship) disability or medical condition, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, age, dependants, political affiliation, geographical location or income level. The committee has constitutional responsibility for monitoring, implementing and reviewing the effectiveness of the policy. It is the responsibility of each committee member, site leader, volunteer and representative of NPC, to uphold the NPC equalities policy. Committee members, site leaders, volunteers and representatives are reminded of their duty to comply with the relevant sections of legislation and of their personal responsibility. Incidents of harassment, abuse, bullying, intimidation or victimisation will be taken seriously. If the incident cannot be resolved by an apology, then NPC will challenge the discriminatory behaviour and will aim to alter negative attitudes and behaviour while maintaining communication with and support for any distressed individual or group.
