Cheers to your first mission! You did a great job! You just had an intro on the basic facts in writing a sentence. You see, writing can be really fun, especially if you are equipped with the necessary rules in constructing powerful sentences! Well, for the succeeding missions, you have to consider the following objectives. Here they are, take a look!

a.1) identify the distinctive qualities of a complete sentence; a.2) define the parts of a complete sentence; a.3) determine the characteristics of a sentence fragment; and a.4) distinguish the defining feature of run-on sentence.
What is a sentence?
The main purpose of a sentence is to communicate an idea. Its components are subject, predicate, and punctuation. Every complete sentence contains two basic parts: a SUBJECT and
a PREDICATE Examples:
Andrew runs. Andrew and Jeremy run on the track every morning.

clearer grasp on the basic components of a complete sentence.

A run-on sentence consists of two or more main clauses that are run
together without proper punctuation. REMEMBER, we must break our sentences into shorter units so that they do not sound run-on. Example:
Run-on (Incorrect): The boy showed us his tickets someone gave them to him. (Correct): The boy showed us his tickets. Someone gave them to him.

The following words may be singular or plural, depending upon their use in a sentence: some, any, all, most. Most of the news is good. (singular) Most of the flowers were yellow. (plural) Subjects joined by and are plural. Subjects joined by or or nor take a verb that agrees with the last subject. Bob and George are leaving. Neither Bob nor George is leaving. There and here are never subjects. In sentences that begin with these words, the subject is usually found later on in the sentence. There were five books on the shelf. (were agrees with the subject book) Here is the report you wanted. (is agrees with subject report) Collective nouns may be singular or plural, depending on their use in the sentence. A collective noun is a noun used to name a whole group. The orchestra is playing a hit song. (Orchestra is considered as one unitsingular) The orchestra were asked to give their musical backgrounds. (Orchestra is considered as separate individuals plural) Expressions of time, money, measurement, and weight are usually singular when the amount is considered one unit. Five dollars is (not are) too much to ask. Ten days is (not are) not nearly enough time. Some nouns, while plural in form, are actually singular in meaning. Mathematics is (not are) an easy subject for some people. Physics is (not are) taught by Prof, Baldwin. Dont and Doesnt must agree with the subject. Use doesnt after he, she, it. Doesnt he (not dont) know how to sail? They dont (not doesnt) make movies like that anymore.
