Jesus as the Bread, the Light, Via, Veritas, Vita It is common knowledge that we know Jesus to be the son

of God, the chosen one of the Father Almighty, but what we dont know is that He is also the bread, the light, the way, the truth, and the life. He is many things, all the good things in the world. Jesus as the bread (John 6:35- I am the Bread of Life.) explains how He is able to satisfy our daily needs. The bread, in laymans terms, is tone of the basic food that we need every day to sustain our body. This also signifies Jesus as the Bread for He fulfills our necessities through the teachings of God. Jesus did not come to fill stomachs with food, but to fill lives with the very presence of God, as he will make clear in this dialogue. Basically, bread is the staple food for most of us. In fact, man can live for days with just bread and water, which also proves that a man should live with Gods words to

sustain not just our physical and mental health but also in a spiritual manner. In short, He is essential for life. Jesus as the light (John 8:12-I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.) shows how He can enlighten us through Gods words. Light, as we know it, is something which all of us need, to see things, to make sense of the world around us. It is the opposite of darkness, an absence of light. God is the source of light. People are in spiritual darkness until they receive the revelation of the light of god. Thats why Jesus became the light of the world; He came to give us Gods light-to reveal to us Gods love and His will for us. As John 14:6 says, I am the way, the truth, and the life. Imagine youre looking for a way to your friends house but you didnt know how to get there. Of course, clueless as you are, you would ask questions and directions for you to find it. And eventually, one thing lead to another, and poof! Youre already there. In biblical terms, the directions you used to get into your destination in that situation are the teachings of God. And that so-called destination is the place that Jesus prepared for us. He is the way for He is able to guide us to the right path and will never allow us to stray off. Jesus is also the truth for He speaks the laws of God which epitomizes purity, righteousness, and honesty. He, as the Incarnate of the Word of God, is the source of all truth. And lastly, He is the life. Basically, we all know our origin; who made us and why we are made. It is God who gave us all of the things we have and therefore, he is the source of it all. He is the source of life. And Jesus, as his son, made all things possible.
