SUICIDE PREVENTER
INTRODUCTION

The youth suicide rate is unfortunately continuously rising. Many people are affected and results in grief and maybe copycat suicide. From research, a way to stop a youth at risk of suicide is to talk and listen, and most importantly, pay attention. We took this information in and created a high-tech device that will listen, speak and help the youth. This report aims to get across what our vision is, how this device will help which people, by using which strategy, process and systems.
3.BUSINESS SECTION 3.1 Vision

To provide high-tech device that helps the heart broken youth today, all around the world, at the right time of need, in order to reduce the tragic suicide deaths of the youth.

"Lifeline"(2010). It is very easy for the buyers to approach them, through online websites, calling, or going to the place.

Rivalry among existing High competitors:

There are many businesses that provide simliar products and services in this industry, so there are more competitors. The competition is fierce and businesses compete to be chosen by the buyers.

This industry is overall not very attractive because four of the five forces are high.
3.3 Customers and Their Needs

The target group of customers for our product are all schools and teachers around the world. Rubenstein (2009) says schools and teachers play an important role in preventing youth suicide by helping schools to initiate suicide-screening programme. Another way for the teachers is to keep an eye out for warning signs of suicide from students (Rubenstein, 2009). However, Snider (2006) and Kascak (2013) says, teachers are too busy and have a lot of duties, to recognize and become aware of these signs, so they need something that will look out for their students instead of them, that will work like a suicide-screening programme.

3.4 The Product and Service

Our product will be installed on the guardrails at places where it is most likely for suicide jumping at school. Our device will sense the student and say greetings like, Good morning and then the device will listen and identify the students reply and reply back with a question relevant to that situation. The device will carry out a conversation that will work like a suicide-screening programme. When the device identifies words that predict suicide, such as die, hopeless, then it will send that conversation log to the school counsellors computer. Our product will satisfy the needs of schools and teachers by listening, talking and encouraging students, who may be at risk of suicide, instead of themselves. Our product will watch for warning signs that the students give, and will get the students the help they need at the right moment.
3.5 Suppliers and Partners

The suppliers that we pay money to are the software programmers and the device manufacturers. The software programmers will supply our business with softwares that will be installed on the device. The device manufacturers, for example Samsung or Apple, will make the high-tech device, and supply it to us. The partners that we will work with are the school counsellors and the Ministry of Education. Through our product, we will send the students in need of help to the school counsellors and then they will help the students. The Ministry of Education will help our business by telling us the criterias that we must follow for our product to be approved and legalised, and our business will help them by addressing the youth suicide problem and helping to solve it.
3.6 Strategy: Differentiation

The competitive scope of our business is broad market because we are targeting and selling our devices to schools in general, all around the world.

The cost strategy of our business is high cost because the devices are made of high technology, is of quality and is innovative, so it will be of high cost. The overall strategy is therefore Differentiation.
3.7 Value Chain Activity: Deliver the product or service

The most important value chain activity for this business is Deliver the product or service. Our vision is to help youth at the right time of need so this value chain is very important. Our product must be delivered quickly to schools so that it can deliver the service, which is connecting the student to counsellor if needed, on time. The delivery is very important because we want to address and stop the problem of youth suicide jumping at school, by being there for all the students and helping them on time, before they make unfortunate decisions, using our product.
3.8 Business Processes

This process is when the device has a conversation with the student, like a suicide-screening programme. When it identifies suicide predicting words from the student's reply, then it will send the conversation log to the school counsellor's computer to get the student help, before they make the wrong choice. This process is important for our business because it delivers the service that we aim to achieve in our vision. It plays the key role of helping the students by connecting them the school counsellors.

3.8.2. DEVICE DELIVERING AND INSTALLING PROCESS -

This process is the process of

delivering, installing and activating the device at the school, after receiving the order. This is a key process and is important because the product must be delivered and installed at the school as soon as possible, after receiving the order. Also, the device and system must be installed and activated by the installing and activating team because if they are not correctly installed and activated, then the device's functionalities will not be carried out and would not help the students.

the school counsellor, by incorporating the functionalities. This system is working as Transaction Processing System (TPS) when it performs this functionality because it captures and tracks the data to the school counsellor's computer. This system will provide installing and activating system functionality, which supports the device delivering and installing process. This system was chosen because for our device to be useful to the school and students, and to fulfil our vision, it must be correctly installed and the system must be correctly activated so it can deliver the service. When it performs this functionality, the system is working as TPS.
3.10.2. DEVICE ACTIVATING SYSTEM -

This system will provide saying messages or asking questions functionality, and this supports the questions and messages managing process. This system was selected because the device must be able to ask relevant questions and carry on the conversation, in order to identify whether the student is at risk or not, like a suicide-screening programme. It has the important role of identifying the students at risk, so that they can be helped. This system is working as a Decision Support System (DSS) as it works the captured data to give knowledge so that the right decision, whether to send the student to the counsellor, can be made.

CONCLUSION

Our high-tech device will identify the youth, seeking for attention and in need of help, by approaching them first and listening to them. It will encourage and motivate them to overcome their problems. It will connect them to the school counsellors at the right time of need. Our device is capable of doing this because of the advanced information system and technology today. The value of information system will help our business to achieve our vision and help the youth today to become more confident and motivated, and as a result address and reduce the youth suicide rate.
