Thief
The Thief class is a very unique class, for their potential is
great when the player knows how to correctly play them. As a
thief you will be one of the most powerful classes in the game
at high levels being able to deal out enormous amounts of
DPS. While learning the thief class is very important, for it will
make or break the thief. For the thief is the most dependent
class of the players actually skill rather than just mashing
buttons.
As a Thief you will have the choice to become an Assassin

which attacks at range at the fastest attack speeds in the
game, or a Bandit which will use a dagger to do close melee
attacks at incredibly fast speeds. Either way you are a class
of stealth with the main goal of DPS and not being hit.
Thief from the start
When you first start your character every time you level you will receive 5
ability points to add stats. You want to know how to use these ability points
from the very start to make sure your Thief is at his full power. When you
level up click on “F” keyboard to bring up your stat screen, this is where you
will be able to allocate your points into the stats of your choice.
The main stat for a Thief is DEX and LUK, you always want to make sure
your DEX is 2 times the amount of your level and the rest of your points
should be going into LUK.

So if you are level 10 your DEX should be 20, if you are level 30 your DEX
should be 60, get the point? So while doing this always make sure you are
putting the rest of your points into LUK, for DEX and LUK should be the
only two stats that you are putting points into. For it is very important for a
Thief to have very high DEX for speed and accuracy and to have very high
LUK for avoidability.

Advancing to a Thief
Once you hit level 10 you are now ready to become a Thief. So head over
to Perry and ask Shanks to leave Maple Island. You will then be teleported
over to Lith Harbor. Once you are at Lith Harbor go to the ticket booth and
buy a ticket to Kerning City. Once in Kerning City, go to the left and look for
the Fusion Jazz Bar. Inside of the bar you’ll find the Dark Lord who will
advance you to a thief.
Thief’s Skills
Nimble Body Master Level

Increases accuracy and avoidability 16

Increase the range of attacks that use throwing weapons 8

Decreases your enemies Moral, the weapon def. and attack will go
down and they will not attack for a short period of time

Thief Builds
As a Thief you are going to have to have the choice of advancing at level 3
to either a Bandit or an Assassin. While you do not have to choose until
your level 30, it is a very good idea to know which one you will advance to
as soon as you hit level 10 that way you may spec and use your Skill
Points in the correct build that will help you down the road to which ever
class you choose.
As an Assassin you are a quick range attacker that becomes one of the
most powerful classes in the game. While as an Assassin you can travel
the world fast and do extreme amounts of damage from afar, but the
downside to Assassins is that they are very expensive to train. For you will
need to spend a lot of money as an Assassin while leveling him and
training him but as you reach higher levels you will be rewarded.
As a Bandit you will be able to deal enormous amounts of damage at high

levels out dealing Assassins and they cost less money to train while
leveling and buying armor. While the Bandit is extremely fast and can
dodge a lot of enemy’s attacks, they still have to go toe to toe with their
foes dealing melee attacks while an Assassin can kill from afar.

Assassin Build
The Assassin build is the build you will want to follow if you plan on
becoming an Assassin at level 30 on your next job advancement.

a Bandit at level 30 on your next job advancement.

Thief Training
(Levels 10 – 30)
Now that you have an idea of how you will spec your Thief, it is now time to
actually go out and start leveling. The key is finding areas that do not have
a lot of competition with other players, and that you are able to kill the
monster in 2 – 3 hits. Anything thing higher than that is to powerful and
anything lower then that will not give you enough EXP. You also want to
find a place where the monsters have a fast respawn rate so there will be
as little down time as possible. As you level and explore zones you will get
the feel for which areas are good for your level and give good EXP.

Start off killing snails for quick EXP, the first zone to the east of Hersheys is a great
place to fight. Each level has a higher monster that you can kill as you level to 15

Once you hit 15 you should start killing Pigs and Mushrooms, they can be found in
almost zone outside of a major city. Try to find somewhere that is not crowded.
