FIRST QUARTER June 17, 2013 (Monday) I.

Objectives At the end of the 60-minute period, the pupils will be able to: A. identify the three main parts of the body; B. group the parts of the body to the main parts they belong to; C. draw some parts of the body; D. give the importance of body parts; and E. explain the importance of knowing the different parts of the body. II. Subject Matter Topics: Lesson 1 Parts of the Body Science Concepts: The body has three big groups. These are the head, the trunk, and the limbs. The head has the following parts: hair, forehead, eyes, eyebrows, eyelashes, ears, nose, lips, chin, and mouth. The trunk has the following parts: shoulders, chest, abdomen, and waist. There are two limbs: upper limbs and lower limbs. The neck connects the head and the trunk. Values: Understanding the importance of different parts of the body. A. Procedure 1. Motivation Ask the pupils about the things they do before going to school. Ask: How are you able to do these things every school day? Let the pupils sing the song Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes and My toes, My Knees, My Shoulder, My Head. 2. Presentation Guide the pupils in answering the activity in Sci-tionary. List down the words (Head, Trunk, Limbs) on the board. Let the pupils point these body parts. 3. Discussion Discuss the important concepts in Feed your mind. Explain each part of the body and classify it according to the main group where in belongs. Show pictures of different parts of the body and group them. 4. Experimentation/Laboratory Activities

5. Generalization Ask: What are the three main parts of the body? 6. Synthesis Play a game called What Body Part Is It? Let the pupils draw the missing parts of the body in a worksheet activity. 7. Evaluation Answer the Brain Challenge on page 6. - Put a check mark in the correct box where each body part is found. Short Quiz No.1

8. Enrichment Activity Discuss about differentlyable person. (Tell: There are people who may have incomplete body parts, but they are still capable of doing many things. IV. Assignment Cut or print a body of a boy or girl. Label the parts of the body using your pencil. Paste in a short bond paper.
