Abstract Marine Methane gas is one of the renewable energy resources, Indonesia as an archipelagic country has the potential to have these natural resources, reviewed the geological and geographical Masalembo waters is one of the areas that have the potential marine methane gas producer.
Keywords: renewable energy, marine methane gas, masalembo waters

1.Introduction Indonesia is an archipelago that most of its territory is water therefore one of the existing renewable energy in Indonesia is marine methane gas, this gas being generated by various activities such as animal and human life which produces CO2 then methanogenesis by some microorganisms as an energy source by using an enzyme catalyst methyl-coenzyme M reductase.the gas accumulates in the atmosphere and sea water bound compound then buried in the sediment due to the nature of the gas that has always wanted to break up through a crack or rock pores so that the gas will come out and can be harmful to marine and air transport systems that pass in this area, because it will happen on a large methane gas explosion that made a hole in the sea, and can suck up whatever is on it. Marine methane is commonly referred to as gas hydrate or methane ice,This gas has a stable condition at a low temperature with high pressure and do not have a reservoir. 2.Methodology exploration The oceans of methane gas can be done by using geographical, geophysical seismic surveys using acoustic indicator of nonphysical and geo proxy by looking at the condition of a Bottom Simulating seismic reflector (BSR). to exploit this gas in drilling

technology that can require drilled into the sea floor in up to 1000 meters and after that go to a depth of 300-600 meters from the seabed. 3. result and disccusion methane gas is found in many marine areas surface water conditions that have a depth between 400-2000 meters and have the water conditions are far from the influence of activity volcanoes in Indonesia in terms of geological and geographical aspects Masalembo waters as the sea is an area potentially containing methane great, this area is located in the fast-flowing waters of the meeting between the strong currents coming from the west Java Sea to the east, the ocean currents from the east flores Strait to the west and flows from north to south makasar this makes the accumulation of methane compounds in marine sediments is high both transported media by wind or water which is then bound by the compound sea water and marine sediments become buried in methane ice. advantage of methane sea this if it has a volume of cubic meters under the sea and then lifted to the surface temperature of 20-27 degrees in the Earth's atmosphere, its volume expands to 164 cubic meters of gas larger because it is the world's largest carbon and can beat the oil and gas potential of the world.

4. Conclusion

Marine methane gas can be used as an energy conversion that is channeled to the existing power plant near the coast. fuel from marine methane gas can be used either in open space (open-flame burning) and fuel cell, can be used as motivation for the development of energy technology in Indonesia.
