Manufacturing Industry
The Manufacturing Sector is of utmost importance to a lead balanced economic growth. It is undoubtedly a massive employment generator and through exports helps a country earn substantial trade surplus. The Indian economy witnessed rapid progression through the past decades and manufacturing as part of service sector has emerged as a compelling contributor to this growth. Taking into account the booming population of India and acutely widening trade decit, need of the hour is to boost manufacturing that will help stabilize economic growth in the long term. Despite a thorough recognition of this fact, the current growth rate of the sector fell down to 6.5 per cent. Its growth has been hindered by various factors including outmoded regulatory policies, lack of infrastructure, intermittent power supplies, taxation and investment issues all leading to exorbitant costs of manufacturing and uncertainty of investors. Assuming that land scarcity, red tape, weak education and infrastructure & outdated labour laws dont undermine the appealing labour costs, India may become the next workshop of the world if the government can address the problems and attract investors while resolving their existing bottlenecks.

The Economic Times Manufacturing Summit

Recognizing the signicance of this sector, we present the country with The Economic Times Manufacturing Summit; which brings together the barons from various industries, ranging from Automobile to FMCG, to deliberate & discuss through multiple focussed panel discussions & interactions. Woven around the theme of Manufacturing: Gearing up for the next level, the summit aims to assess the sectors course ahead while guring out ways to mitigate risks & future-proof the business protability. Also a key derivative from the conference would be to nd ways to combat the bearish economy while maximising business potential. The Economic Times Manufacturing Summit aims to focus on the major developments & understand the existing challenges while preparing for the future.
