NMIMS Sop-Shravan Nawany It ain't about how hard you hit.

It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! The quote doesnt fit in well. First thing theyll ask is what severe hardships did you face that you kept moving on or what hit you that hard? Use this instead - "Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did." - Newt Gingrich Or you can google quotes, youll get plenty of better ones Sylvester Stallone This has been the motto that guided me through my academic and professional life. I am currently working in my family owned construction and logistics business as a management trainee. I believe in persevering towards achieving my goals and reaching the limit of my capacity no matter what the situation might be. My staunch belief in these principles has enabled me to score the highest marks from amongst my peers in Mathematics with 148/150 and standing second in my school. I continued this form, by scoring a decent 175/200 in the engineering entrance exams and securing admission in Civil engineering at Veermata Jijabai technological Institute. Throughout my Engineering I took an active interest to be involved in extra-curricular activities and made an effort to explore new avenues and applied for the campus ambassador position in channel [V]. I was required to organize the Indiafest zonals held in VJTI and help be the link between channel V and my college. Enthralled by Impressed with my work I was promoted to campus manager and selected amongst the top 60 ambassadors in the country to manage the national level festival Nokia Indiafest12 in Goa. I started off in my first year of engineering as a volunteer in various events in my college technical and cultural festival. Realizing my interest in event management I applied and got selected for 3 important roles in the cultural festival Pratibimb. The first role was the department head of civil engineering which included me to handle all the participants and teams for various events and make sure they perform, my leadership skills were challenged. Being the event head of CSI(crime scene investigation) I had to choose volunteers and assign them responsibilities, delegate tasks and most importantly guide and lead them. The third role being of the Publicity head, entailed asking where I had to ask permissions from various colleges in Mumbai to pitch our festival in order to attract participants. Having been a part of these activities, I have realised the importance of teamwork, co-ordination and good managerial skills for success of an event. if you put in an experience of any festival where you worked but overall the festival didnt workout that would bring a good example of how youve actually realised the importance of overall team work Keeping in mind practical development along with my course work, I Iinterned at K. Raheja Corp as a Project Trainee on a residential site with 3 44-storey towers at Mahalaxmi. After my third year of engineering I chose to intern at Larsen and Toubro ECC on the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport project(CSIA) Sahar bridge for a month.- elaborate more on this, this is a better work experience than festivals. Talk about how much you loved the work, what you learnt, how you realised this is your calling wrt operations

Activities during my leisure time include playing football, badminton, swimming and watching shows on various genres. I also enjoy socializing and building a network. To satiate my adventurous spirit and spiritual needs I travel and indulge in varied activities ranging from wild water rafting to 7 days of Vipassana meditation. I strongly want to pursue Management Education because it will help me acquire expertise in meeting and overcoming managerial challenges associated with operating, successfully sustaining and expanding my family-owned construction and logistics business. Civil engineering coursework has helped me gain sound technical knowledge, however management studies will help me develop the ability to manage complex business situations, especially the art of making decisions in uncertain or ambiguous environments, break away from functional focus and develop a more inclusive attitude. A degree from NMIMS, one of the most prestigious institutes will provide me with a stimulating environment to develop my personality where creativity and intellect is nurtured and honed. An institute that has a rich alumni base, overseas links providing foreign exchange programs and students from diverse backgrounds will help me build a network of managers and future managers from all over the country. Such a unique collaborative program that extends beyond the confines of the classroom with case studies and industrial interaction will inspire novel ideas, strategies and help me in achieving my career goals.
