who wasnt exactly happy to have a sibling. I lived in India till I was about 5 years old, before my family moved to the States to the state of California. I grew up in the city of Fremont, with

I was born in India on January 11, 1996. I already had a 4 year old brother at the time,

both of my parents and my older brother. When we were kids my brother and did not get along at all. We constantly fought with each other, both physically and verbally. Our relationship is now a lot better than it used to be. I have changed a total of 9 schools till today. The school year which had the greatest impact on me was grade 4. In grade 4 I had an amazing teacher, who was extremely encouraging, and helped me gain confidence in my academic abilities. Since moving to California I visited India a few times, but the most memorable trip for me was the one in 2009. This was an incredible trip for me, as I had the chance to connect with my family in India and get to know everyone better. Since I do not have any family besides my parents and my brother in Canada, going to India helped me grow closer to my grandparents, along with my dads best friend. We stayed in a hotel for a couple weeks in Delta. My brother and my cousins. The same year I moved to Canada from California. My family drove to Canada, and I had a difficult time getting admitted into schools in Delta, as there was no space available. Finally, we were admitted into Panorama Ridge Secondary, and we found a house near the area. My mom now works at Shoppers Drug Mart, where as my dad works at a printing shop in as an animator. I started volunteering in the summer of grade 8, with some of my friends. I volunteered for special events, such as White Rock Sea Festival, and Langley International Festival. I also became part of the City of Surrey. Volunteering has allowed me meet students from across the district, and become friends with people I normally would not have been able to meet. It also allowed me to grow closer to some of my friends at school, as it became an activity we did together. In grade 10 I became more involved at school, and became part of the Homework Club, and the National Battle for Change Club. Since grade 8 I have continued to volunteer picnics. I have continued to volunteer for special events for the past 5 years. I have also with the City of Surrey, and helped at various day camps during the summer, and community Vancouver. My brother recently began working at an animation studio called Atomic Cartoons,

volunteered for Lift the Children, which is an organization, that supports various orphanages across Africa. In grade 11, I took part in the Science Co-Op program, and had the chance to go to two different work experiences. For my first work experience I went to Evergreen Hamlets, which is a care centre for adults with mental disabilities. Before going to this work experience I had been planning on becoming a psychiatrist, but working at Evergreen was an eye opening experience. I had the chance to work with a few Recreation Therapists, which helped me realize how emotionally challenging it can be to work with people with mental disabilities. I came to the conclusion that I was too affected by the condition of residents in the facility, and therefore would have a difficult time working in any medical field which requires working Community College, to learn more about the job responsibilities of a professor. I found this directly with seriously ill individuals. For my second work experience I went to Sprott Shaw work experience to be extremely boring and tedious, as I did not have much opportunity to work with any of the professors, and spent most of my time filing and photocopying different documents. However, I did have the chance to sit in some of the classes, and help some of the teachers with marking.

In the summer of grade 11 I went to a summer program called Shad Valley, The program is meant for students across Canada interested in one of the four fields; sciences, business, research, and technology. I had the chance to live on campus at the University of Saskatchewan, with 54 other students from across Canada, for the month of July. This was an amazing experience for me. Shad gave me the chance to form connection with students all over Canada, and I had one of the best summers of my life. Something I really enjoy doing is listening to music. I even enjoy listening to music in languages I dont understand. In my free time I enjoy reading and writing. My favorite book is The Fountainhead, which is a book about a type of philosophy called objectivism. I also enjoy notebooks with quotes I like and can relate to. Therefore even for my yearbook write up I watching a lot of spoken word in my free time. I collect quotes. So far I have filled up two small choose to use a quote, that I could relate to. In my room I have a wall full of quotes I printed out and taped to the wall. I also love going to Zumba classes with my friends. Once I graduate I plan on studying Psychology in the Faculty of Science at Queens University, although I am not entirely sure what I want to do with that degree. When I am older I hope to travel to different countries. The first place I would like to visit is Norway.
