TASKS
There will be many tasks I will have to face while making a game like this. I will need to make sure I stay on top of everything by being aware on my time management skills this will help me organize what task I should start first so I can move on to another.

TASK ONE - GAME I DEA AND STORY

First step taken towards creating a game will need to be, is to create an overall storyline this will help me understand what I can include in a game and what I should not for example in a realistic simulation game if there was flying unicorns it would not make sense. In this case I should analyze my game style by researching other games in the same genre as this will help me come up with more appropriate themes for the game.

TASK TWO - CONCEPT ART

Concept art will translate my game idea into a visual format for example if I considered designing a character I will have to consider the storyline while doing this for example if the main character was a super hero I will make sure he had super human proportions also if in the story there was planet where there is an ancient civilization it would be necessary to make it look a bit older so the game design can relate to actual story

TASK 3 - 3D MODELS
As the game I will make is required to be 3D I will have to create models which will relate to the concept art for this I can use programs such as: 3D S M AX 3DS Max is a 3D design software by Autodesk which is very powerful and has integrated 3D modelling, animation, rendering tools which allow the users create pieces of art with less technical difficulty then most other programs. The program includes many tools to be suitable to professions from game developers to engineers. B LENDER Blender is a free open sourced 3D computer graphic software product which is mainly used for creating animated films, visual effects but can also make games. It also has its own built in game engine. M AYA Is another 3D design software by Autodesk which is more targeted towards animators for movies. Maya is a very powerfull and respected powerfull in the software world. Hollywood also use this program for some of their movies such as Toy Story 3. All of these programs will be able to help me create a 3D game, but the one I have experience with is 3ds max and this will probably be my first choice unless I learn how to use the other ones.

TASK 4 ANIMATION
We will learn to create animations during the process of designing the game this will include particle effects, character animation and environment effects. This can include effects from a black hole eating stars to an opening a door.

TASK 5 NARRATION
The narration of the game will be done using a script this can either be done in a way where it seems like one main person telling the story of the game to the audience and then there is another narrative where the characters in the game talk about what is necessary to understand the game. We are not experienced in the software needed for this yet but will be using it soon later into the unit one software I have some knowledge of is a program called audacity.

TASK 6 CODING
Coding is need to sort out how the game will work for example the game will need to be coded to move the character to one place to another while playing the animation.

TASK 7 TESTING
Testing is very important to ensure that everything is working properly this would be done by playing the game and trying to do things that are not supposed to happen so they can patch up the problem testing is normally done through the different stages for example alpha and beta.

TASK 8 - RELEASE
The release in our case would be done when the game is ready after testing is complete to be played properly and get marked.

BRIEFS
There are different types of briefs which are used for use in agreement between the employee and the company it lets both of the clients know of the aims and the objective of the project, either clearly distinct in the initial stages or as an evolving process as the communication between the employee's and the companies progresses. All projects start out by some form of a brief, for example at the start of this project this was my brief.

NEGOTIATED BRIEFS
Negotiated briefs is a type of brief which can change during the process of the agreement if it is required to be whether from the employee or the company. Negotiated briefs compared to the other briefs is much more relaxed than the others. Negotiated brief can have input from both sides either from the company or the employees themselves as this brief is open to being reviewed. Negotiated briefs include everything that has to be done as well as other information such as the size, quantity, cost, scope of work time frame etc. The employers that tends to use this kind of brief tends to be a small company which is open to negotiation so it can suit both their company and the employee. The communication between the employee and company is very important whilst doing this type of brief as the brief is created by both parties and all of the decisions are made together.

CONTRACTUAL BRIEFS
A contract brief is a binding contract between the employers and the employee. The contractual brief clarifies how the company arranges its work and the duties required. The contractual brief states how much the employee will receive once the production is done. The contractual brief includes many other areas within it such as what the employee is agreeing to from simple things like hours to insurance. Employers in the media and gaming industry often use contractual briefs. It is a legal contract between the employer and the employee which describes the task required to be done, the price and also the payment terms. The advantages of these types of contracts are that it is easy for the employer to complete the production with a lot of information, it also allows them to have more control over the process. The disadvantages are for the producer making the contract as there may be disagreements between the employee and the employer on how the contractual brief should be.

Final Major Project Task 1:Idea Generation Mohammed Rahman 50171649

TENDER BRIEFS
Tender briefs are the type of brief that someone can receive if they are new to a company. Whilst on a tender brief, they can develop their ideas amongst others and then based on the quality of their work, the company decides whether they are suitable to be the employee or not. The advantage of a tender brief is that it is relaxed and easy to do. A disadvantage of a tender brief is that at the end you may not be chosen by the company as the employee at the end.

CO-OPERATIVE BRIEFS
Co-operative briefs are the type of brief that allows there to be two or more parties involved in the brief, it allows a number of employees to work together. This is rather unlike any other briefs as it allows more than one person to be involved with the brief.

FORMAL BRIEFS
Formal briefs are briefs that may change overtime by the employer as the production develops due to additional requirements that may be put in. This brief is also relaxed like negotiated briefs and the layout is very calm and is easy to read. Due to this structure of formal briefs it is much easier for the employee to understand and finish the task for the product.

INFORMAL BRIEFS
Informal briefs are usually a lot simpler and are usually specifically used on one person. An informal brief tends to not be given directly to the person but would have most likely be given by a company or found on the internet. One of the advantages of doing an informal brief is that it is very laidback, which creates a relaxed environment for the worker and the employee and therefore the product can be created much more quickly. One disadvantage of an informal brief is that it is most usually seen as unprofessional and unclear and could create confusion between the employer and the employee.

COMPETITION BRIEFS
Competition briefs are used in competitions and are given to the participants within that competition, it explains to the competitors what they must do to enter the competition and lets them understand how to complete the competition and this type of brief involves and is centered on the audience. Companys usually use this type of briefs to promote competition by giving out the brief to employees so they are clear on what they need to do to enter and compete in the competition. There are many refer factors that come in to play when creating a competition brief such as the scope of work, size of purchase (competition details), target audience and how to attract the audience, quantities and sitting.

THE FINAL MAJOR PROJECT BRIEFS BENEFITS

The brief I received at the start of The Final Major Project benefited me in various ways from telling me exactly what I will throughout this project so I have an overall understanding of what I will face the project itself will benefit me in many ways from learning how to create an immersive storyline by learning different storytelling techniques, learning how to have a forking narrative story line which can turn into different outcomes, create 3D models learning to texture them learning how to apply textures and learning how to animate the models that need animating for all of the different scenes that also will be different according to what the players chooses. The Final Major Projects will benefit me in many ways as it will help me try out many different parts of creating my own game. It will give me an understanding of what I would like to do. I believe there is no reason to negotiate another brief or changes as I believe this project has a wide range of things I can learn and benefit from.
