February 8, 2014 Dear Friend: The Spring 2014 Yakima Valley Senior Expo is set for Thursday April

24, 2014 and as an advertiser in the Senior Times or previous Expo participant we want to give you first choice of your booths location. As you probably know, we almost sold out last year and expect to fill up again this year. This is the senior trade show that delivers the traffic! Our commitment to marketing and advertising is what makes us different and what delivers the crowds of seniors looking at your product or service. We have a strong ad budget again this year, and will, once again, supplement our marketing program with an extended radio campaign. The Senior Expo will feature products and services from up to 50 area businesses and social service agencies in a trade show format. We have a number of pre-event marketing plans set which will fill the Expo with active, interested senior buyers ... anxious to talk with you on a face-to-face basis. We will be running our popular Treasure Hunt promotion -- getting each of our senior buyers who attend the Expo to visit every booth in the show. Please review the attached information and call if you have any questions. To reserve a space, complete the enclosed application and return it with $375 as soon as possible. (Of course, we will be happy to bill existing clients.) We will begin offering booths to non-advertisers soon. All spaces are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis, so please complete the contract or contact us as soon as possible so we can reserve your space. Were sure the leads provided will more than repay your $375 investment. Thank you; we look forward to helping you market to Yakima area seniors. Best regards,

Bruce Smith, Publisher

MARKETING PLANS

Front page stories promoting the Senior Expo will be featured in the February, March, and April issues of the Senior Times. Each issues coverage will be progressively more detailed and generate more and more interest among the Senior Times 15,000-plus readers. The April issue (delivered just days before the Expo) will contain a special section devoted entirely to the Senior Expo. Preliminary plans for the special section include a floorplan demonstrating the depth and breadth of the products, services and companies on display and a full-length feature article highlighting the various exhibitors and aspects of the Expo. Each Senior Times issue will contain various ads worth several thousand dollars emphasizing, re-emphasizing and finally driving home the facts of the Expo. At least one ad will also contain a clip-out admission ticket good for free admission of the bearer and guest(s).

Admission Tickets
Five thousand admission tickets will be printed and distributed in a variety of ways. These 5,000 tickets are in addition to the tickets printed in the Senior Times. These tickets will be made available to exhibitors as soon as the exhibitor commits to participate in the Expo. Within reason, exhibitors will be given as many admission tickets as they can distribute. Many exhibitors will insert the tickets in billing statements, newsletters, etc. Admission tickets will also be made available to seniors through senior organizations, groups, retirement homes, senior apartments and mobile home courts, etc. Although no admission will be charged at the door, these tickets endear the senior to the exhibitor that provided the ticket.

Public Relations
In April, we will begin promoting the Expo through the news media. We will issue press releases announcing the Expo and try to generate as much exposure through the news programs and pages as possible. On the day of the event, all of the media (particularly the broadcast media) will be personally invited to attend the show early in the day and hopefully broadcast information about the show throughout the day.

Paid Media
A strong advertising campaign and a series of articles will run for three months in the Yakima Valley Business Times. In addition to the strong campaign being conducted in the Senior Times, we will purchase ads in the Yakima HeraldRepublic a day or two before the Expo as well as on the day of the Expo. In order to try and target senior citizens through the Herald as best as we can, we will run the ads in the obituary section. We will also invest in a radio ad campaign worth several thousand dollars to remind seniors of the Expo.

Treasure Hunt
In addition to bringing as many seniors to the Expo as possible, we strive to bring them to your booth during the show. Our Treasure Hunt contest (in which seniors must have an entry form initialled by each Expo vendor to be eligible for a series of door prizes) has proven extremely successful in drawing more than half of the attending seniors directly to vendor booths.
