Dr. Robert T. Baker

Doctor of Paleontology
University of Wyoming, 1000 E. University Avenue
Laramie, Wyoming, 82071

Dear Dr. Baker,

I am a young student whom has always dreamed of being a paleontologist. I wish to enquire about the opening in the
Carbon-Dating Unit I read about on your website.

I have studied paleontology all my life, and have therefore coalesced a mass amount of knowledge about the subject. I
have never gotten less than an A for a science class, and even corrected my teacher about the non-existence of
Brontosaurs. I feel a particular interest in Carbon-Dating, as one could find that some animals appeared earlier than
previously thought when checking the results. The idea of finding such a radical change in the way we view evolution,
even if it’s just the age of the first rat to evolve, has always been seen by me as intriguing, if not to succulent an idea to
avoid. I am a very determined young woman and will make sure my specimens are perfect.

I thank you for bothering to read this letter and ask for you to send a reply back soon.

Sincerely,

Maeve Settle
