(Tagline: The bank that begins with U ) FOUNDED: October 12, 1950 HEADQUARTER : Kolkata, West Bengal CHAIRMAN AND MD: Ms. Archana Bhargava BRANCHES: , 1800+ branches 34 Regional offices (Major presence in Eastern India) PRODUCTS AND SERVICES: Consumer Banking, Finance and Insurance, Investment Banking, Mortgages etc. 1) As of today, United Bank is 100% CBS enabled with more than 1800 branches and offices and is having a Total business of more than Rs 2 lakh crore. 2) UBI played a significant role in the spread of banking services in different parts of the country, particularly in Eastern and North-Eastern parts of India. United Bank has sponsored 4 Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) one each in West Bengal, Assam, Manipur and Tripura. These four RRBs together have over 1000 branches. 3) United Bank is also known as the 'Tea Bank' because of its age-old association with the financing of tea gardens. It has been the largest lender to the tea industry in the country. 4) United Bank had initiated the efforts to provide banking services to the people living in the remote inaccessible areas of the Sunderbans in West Bengal, United Bank had established two floating mobile branches on motor launches which moved from island to island on different days of the week; however the floating mobile branches were discontinued with the opening of full-fledged branches at the centers which were being served by the floating mobile branches. 5) United Bank also ATMs all over the country and customers can use United International Debit Card at all VISA ATMs across the globe. 6) SPECIAL LOAN SCHEMES FOR BACKWARD COMMUNITIES: (Overall 5 schemes) (i) United Awas Yojana for SC/ST: This schemes aim is providing financial assistance for purchase/construction of new/old house/flat. Extent of credit is Max. Rs. 5lac. Rate of Interest ranges anywhere between 10.45 % pa 10.95% pa, depending upon the repayment. (ii) United Siksha Yojana for SC/ST : This schemes aim is Providing financial assistance to the brilliant and needy students of the community for pursuing higher / professional / technical education. 7) RURAL SELF EMPLOYMENT TRAINING INSTITUTE: Bank has so far set up 11 RSETIs in the states of West Bengal, Assam and Tripura to impart training to the prospective entrepreneurs from the downtrodden

community of the society. Up to 31.03.2013, these institutes have imparted training to 25094 rural youths /women of which 18565 trainees are self employed and 1195 trainees are wage employed. Out of 18565 self employed trainees 10472, trainees have got loan from Banks. These institutes are providing post training support (Escort Services) including arrangement of loan from our Bank branches to enable the trainees to set up their own ventures.
