We are pleased to inform that
ESMAEs Early Music Department will
be organizing a dulcian, baroque
and
classical
bassoon
meeting
between the 21st and 23rd of February
with some of todays foremost
performers. Benny Aghassi, Donna
Agrell, Jos Gomes, Hugues Kesteman
and Mlodie Michel will be giving
masterclasses, conferences, round
tables, reed workshops and concerts.
Its not necessary to have an historical
instrument to participate.

(1978), began his recorder
studies with Bracha Kol in
Jerusalem. He studied then at
the Royal Conservatory in The
Hague with Sbastien Marq and
Donna Agrell, and completed
his Masters degree (cum
laude) with Heiko ter Schegget
at The Conservatory of Utrecht.
He currently plays and records
with orchestras such as Freiburg
Baroque Orchestra, Orchestra of the 18th century, Al Ayre
Espaol, The Netherlands Bach Society, Orchestre des Champs
Elyses, BRock, Orchestra Libera Classica, Musica ad Rhenum,
Holland Baroque Society and Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra.

held a grant from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation
between 1997-2005. He currently lives in The Hague and
teaches historical bassoon at the Amsterdam conservatory.
After her modern bassoon studies
in Holland and Switzerland,
'RQQD $JUHOOs fascination with
the historical music movement
led to specialization in period
bassoons. A member of the
Orchestra of the 18th Century
since its founding in 1981 by
Frans Brggen, she also played in
Sigiswald Kuijkens orchestra, La
Petite Bande, from 1980 to 1990
and was principal bassoonist
of the Freiburger Barockorchester from1990 until 2009. She
has also performed and recorded with many well-known
period orchestras, such as Bach Collegium Japan (M. Suzuki)
and Orchestra Libera Classica (H. Suzuki); her discography
with orchestral, chamber and solo works numbers over one
hundred. She is teacher in the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and
the Royal Conservatoire in the Hague, and gives many master
courses. She is pursuing PhD studies at Leiden University.
-RVp 5RGULJXHV *RPHV studied historical bassoon in the
Royal Conservatories of Den Haag and Amsterdam, and
investigated on the use of dulcian in Portuguese polyphony.
Hes the principal bassoon of Divino Sospiro and Orquestra
Barroca da Casa da Msica. He also collaborates with

Orchestra; Vox Luminis; Musica
Amphion and participated to
different EUBO sessions. He is a
member of Capella Sanctae
Crucis, under the direction
of Tiago Simas Freire. He co-
founded the Thalia Ensemble,
with whom he won the first
price of the York Competition.

French bassoon in Paris and
german bassoon in Belgium
and Switzerland. She started
to learn baroque bassoon with
Giorgio
Mandolesi
(Zurich)
and continued her studies
with Donna Agrell (Basel) and
Josep Borrs (Barcelona), also
studying baroque bassoon
pedagogy.
She
plays
in
many modern and baroque
orchestras in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Italy
and Portugal. She leaded different projects to develop
Early Music, for example in South Caucasus countries. She
founded ensembles devoted to the dulcian music, soloistic
or polyphonical. She teaches baroque bassoon at ESMAE.
+XJXHV .HVWHPDQ was graduated in bassoon in Brussels and
Detmold. He studied early music with the oboist Paul Dombrecht.
He played in the Orchestre de Lige, in the Radio-Television Belge
and in the Regie Sinfonia do Porto. Hes been active in La Grande
Ecurie et la Chambre du Roy,
Concerto Koln, Les Musiciens
du Louvre, Ensemble Rumein
(Sabine
Meyer),
Concerto
Armonico
Budapest,
Foral,
Wiener Akademie, Segris de
Lisboa and Arte Real Ensemble.
He created many bassoon

Hes currently modern and
baroque teacher in the ESMAE.
