Volunteers manned the SDARM booth at the Tulare Agricultural Expo, one of the largest of its kind in the world, February 11-13. Over 3,000 books were distributed, as well as 700 planet "God So Loved the World" stress balls, 1250 English laminated ten commandment posters, and 625 Spanish laminated ten commandment posters. Praise the Lord for all the volunteers who made this literature distribution such a success. Michael Torpey, who coordinated the event, said that it was a blessing to receive as much help as we could receive. Let us pray for all those who stopped at the booth and asked questions and received encouragement.

NWUSF Executive Meeting

The NWUSF Executive Committee met Thursday, February 13 for their first meeting of 2014. Agenda items including finalizing the details for the spring spiritual conference, worker analysis, changes to the WNAU Bylaws that affect the NWUSF, approval of the preliminary financial report for the 2013 year-end, a youth training program, possible relocation of the Sacramento Church, proposals for the date of the NWUSF reorganizational Session, update of the mission trip, and an update on the turning lane into the Moriah Heights property. These issues will now be passed to the NWUSF Council, which will meet Thursday, February 27 at 6:00pm.

This weeks service will be presented by David Zic under the title Lessons From Babylon. The service is based on the text found in Jeremiah 35:13. Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will ye not receive instruction to hearken to my words? saith the Lord. The Lord permitted the Babylonians to be His instrument against a wicked nation? What lead to this destruction and what lessons can we learn from Babylon to avoid the same fate for ourselves and our church.
