January was busy, but encouraging. Please join us in welcoming Olivia Beck, our niece, to Shell. It is a blessing to have her here and we cant wait to see how the Lord uses her the next six months. Olivia will be teaching English at the Casa de Fe school. The kids are on break for the next two weeks, but will begin around the middle of February, so please be praying for Olivia as she begins her new role here at Casa. There were several short-term missionary teams here this month, and we were blessed by their presence and willingness to serve. One of the teams fed us dinner, performed a foot washing ceremony, and then presented every missionary with a pair of shoes. Of course the girls were thrilled with getting a new pair of shoes and so were we! Another team came in from Ft. Campbell, Ky. as part of a ministry to observe the effects of serving at Casa de Fe on people with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). These wounded warriors served with honor and dignity. There were many special moments as they bonded with the kids and worked alongside the guys doing construction. They visited the Nate Saint house, went on a jungle hike, and visited the local zoo. We were really blessed to have them here, and the kids loved on them every minute. Many relationships were started between these men and the kids, so it will be fun to see how those relationships develop over the next year. We are currently caring for eighty-one children, so please pray for everyone here as we try to show the love of Christ to so many. With that many children, things sometimes get hectic, but the Lord always provides peace and unity when we need it. We cant do any of this without the Lords blessing of bringing you into our lives. We love you, and thank the Lord every day for your being by our side. On mission together,

Bibles for the older children...

There is a particular need that is on our hearts and we would love for you to be involved. Several of the older girls and boys have been asking for their own Bible. Most dont have one to take to church, at least one they can call their own. We have many Bibles that have been donated, but they are a bit worn, and some are showing signs of moisture damage. April and I visited a Christian bookstore last week, and the Bibles were between $15 and $25. If you would like to help, you can contribute to: CornerStone International P.O. If you would like to purchase a Bible for a specific child, just drop us an e-mail and we can give you more information. We could put your name in it and a personalized note or Bible verse. I would say our need is around 20 Bibles.
