The Company
OMV, headquartered in Vienna, is Austrias largest listed industrial company. The company was founded in Austria in 1956 and is now active in around 30 countries worldwide. The international and integrated oil and gas company with around 29,000 employees focuses on profitable growth in its three business areas of Exploration & Production (E&P), Gas & Power (G&P) and Refining & Marketing including petrochemicals (R&M). OMV runs a network of approximately 4,350 filling stations under the brand names OMV, Avanti, Petrom and Petrol Ofisi and operates four refineries. Focused and more integrated growth The companys future lies in a simplified and more focused portfolio with more integrated growth. This means growth in upstream business, or the exploration and production of oil.

1956: Founding of sterreichischen Minerallverwaltung AG (MV) 1968: First natural gas supply contract with the then USSR 1985: First international E&P operations in Libya 1987: Acquisition of the Burghausen refinery and first step towards privatization 1989: Second privatization step 1990: Acquisition of CHEMIE LINZ Group; the first MV filling station opens 1991-1993: Start of the international filling station retail business with the first MV filling stations in Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Italy, Slovenia and Croatia 1994: Acquisition of 19.6% of MVs share capital by IPIC/Abu Dhabi (increased to 24.9% in 2011)

Secure Europes energy supply


OMV focuses on its strengths and is present in the regions that will play a key role in ensuring Europes energy supply: the Middle East and the Caspian Region, where more than 50% of global oil and gas reserves are stored. Turkey will play an important role as a strategic link to these regions rich in raw materials. By investing in Turkey, OMV has created the basis for a secure and sustainable supply of oil and gas to Austria and Europe.
