Graduate membership is open to those who have completed an Engineers Australia accredited or recognised
Australian tertiary qualification in engineering.
To join as a graduate member you will need to have completed one of the following courses in
engineering, or equivalent:
a four or more year accredited professional engineering course (i.e. 4 year or 3+2 year)
a three-year accredited engineering technology course
a two-year recognised/accredited engineering TAFE advanced diploma or associate degree
Having completed your degree or diploma, you now need to develop your practice skills and professional
competencies through on-the-job experience and professional development programs.

with an Australian qualification (see below note 2)
Please note, if supplying your degree testamur it MUST state your discipline/specialisation. Otherwise a certified complete
academic transcript must be submitted. If you are applying for Engineering Associate category, please provide certified copies of
the academic transcripts.
Note 1 Certified copy - must be certified as a true copy by a person who has sighted the original document. The certifier may be
a Graduate, Member, or Fellow of Engineers Australia, an Engineers Australia staff member or a person authorised to sign
Statutory Declarations such as a Justice of the Peace.
Note 2 Candidates with overseas qualifications: an assessment is required to establish equivalence with an Australian qualification.
The Stage 1 Guide is available from the website at www.engineersaustralia.org.au/stage-1. If your qualifications are accredited
under the Washington, Sydney or Dublin Accords you will not need to complete a Stage 1 Assessment and are eligible to apply
for membership using our normal application procedures.
Note 3 Persons with qualifications in fields related to engineering, and with experience in engineering work, may be admitted
to Graduate membership in an appropriate occupational category on submission of a Stage 1 Assessment demonstrating
competencies equivalent to an Engineers Australia-recognised engineering qualification. Please refer to our website
www.engineersaustralia.org.au/stage-1 for further details.

MEMBERSHIP SPONSORSHIP (PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM ONLY)

If your membership is to be sponsored by your organisation as part of your participation on the Professional Development Program,
you must see your PDP Coordinator who must complete, in full, the Sponsorship Form, only available to them from the PDP
Coordinator resources section of the EA website. This Sponsorship Form must then be attached to this Membership Application Form.
