PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 1998-2005 Replin Fabrics & Robert Noble, Peebles, Scottish Borders, U.K. Woven Textile Design & Sales Working independently and as as part of a small team I was responsible for all aspects of textile design from concept to production for the US market. Managing wholesalers and interior designers, major airlines and branding agencies I held creative control and was solely responsible for the satisfaction of my clients. Working dynamically with clients on product development using creativity, conscientiousness, effective communication and time management to ensure their needs were met. Frequent travel UK to US. Designed jacquards for interiors and high specification technical textiles for transportation. Residential and contract interior clients included: Rose Tarlow, Henry Calvin, Unica Vaev. Transportation project clients included: United, The Orient Express, Heathrow Express. Involved in overseeing the manufacturing process: jacquard and dobby wovens, passing shades for yarn dyes and piece dyes, requesting specific cloth finishes. Exhibited at European trade fairs. Developed and fostered new links with UK based design companies. Tracked customer contact and communicated this information throughout the team. Actively involved in the presentation of samples and brochures for new products. Extensive use of CAD. 1995 1997 Cadena, Madrid, Spain Designer As part of a team I selected and designed textiles for a range of apparel fabrics. Actively sourced and selected suppliers internationally. Partnered with a fashion designer to present fabrics as garments which were photographed for marketing catalogues. Designed printed and woven fabrics. Liased with manufacturers to coordinate the sample requests. 1994 1995 Vasino, Turin, Italy Assistant Designer Assisted head designer to create a spring/summer collection of apparel fabrics for this Italian mill. Gained technical knowledge of the construction and manufacture of woven and printed textiles.
