Behavior Management Plan

Teacher: Gina Bogden Date: February 17, 2013 Classroom Rules: 1. Raise your hand before you speak. 2. Listen when others are talking. 3. Keep your hands and feet to yourself. 4. Follow directions. 5. Use kind words. Procedure: I will use the Green-Yellow-Red discipline system in my classroom, but it will be based around my theme, which is the ocean. Each day when the children enter the classroom, they move the magnetic fish with their name on it into the Learning Sea. This tells me that they are here and ready to learn. Misbehavior: If a rule is broken, the child is given a warning and a reminder about the rule. If the misbehavior continues, the child is told to move his/her fish into the thinking net and to think about his/her behavior. Improved behavior results in the student being allowed to move his/her fish back to the Learning Sea at a later time. If the students behavior has not improved by the end of the day, an Oops Letter (see sample below) is sent home so that parents will be made aware of the unacceptable behavior. This letter needs to be signed by the student and a parent and returned to me the following day. For serious misbehavior, the student will be told to move his/her fish to the Principals Boat, and he/she will be sent to the principals office. Good Behavior: For outstanding behavior, the student moves his/her fish into the Cool Coral Reef. Other forms of positive reinforcement include smiles, words of praise, high-fives, stickers, and a small piece of candy. Grade: Kindergarten Room #: 1
