HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 8:00, 9:00 & 11:00A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: Numbers 19-21; Mark 4:1-20 Monday, February 24 John 1:41 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ. Holy Father: Make this example become the pattern for spiritual reproduction in my life. 1. As soon as I find Christ I should find others True love ends the spiritual monopoly on grace! Andrew found his own brother Simon Peter first, then he found others. 2. Ministry runs on the rails of my relationships Help me Lord, to witness to my own circle of friends as much as anyone else. We will not reach the community unless I am reaching my contacts. May I not neglect the special sphere of influence you have given. I am called to ministry and called to be the missionary. Help me! Many businesses export their best products, but I should not. Help me be careful to place the sweetest fruit of spiritual life and testimony right in front of the people I already know. Andrew did it, and he couldnt have guessed how prominent Simon Peter would later become. 3. Simon Peter might be worth ten Andrews, yet Andrew was instrumental in bringing Peter to Jesus Oh Lord, I feel like such a failure in evangelism! because that is not my nature, personality or gift. But use me as the means to draw to Christ even one person, who will grow in grace and service, and be able to bring in many more. What possibilities lie in this prayer? I can speak a word to a child, and within that child may be slumbering a strong heart that will stir the whole church in years to come! Andrew had only two talents, but he went and found Peter who had ten. Help me go out today and do likewise by your Spirit. Amen. A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: Numbers 28-30; Mark 5:22-43 Thursday, February 27 Exodus 15:25 And [Moses] cried unto the Lord; and the Lord shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for [Israel] a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them, TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS CROSS Chronological Bible Reading: Numbers 22-24; Mark 4:21-41 Tuesday, February 25 John 19:16 Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away. O Lord, My Savior: The Old Testament tells me how the high priest brought the scapegoat and put both hands on his head, confessing the sins of the people in such a way those sins were laid on that goat, before he was led away (Lev 16:10,21). Jesus, I know you carried away my sin, because I laid my hands on your head, confessed my sin, and trusted in you to take it. Thank you Lord for transferring my sin to Christ by imputation. You attributed my iniquity to him, and he bore it on his shoulders in the form of an old rugged cross. The lamb goes as willingly to the slaughter as he does to the green pasture. Just so Lord, you cheerfully took up the cross and went away, outside the camp. And so you give me a picture of what I myself should expect in this life if I am faithful to you. The world will count it a service to despise and reject the saints, just like it despises and rejects the message of the cross. But Lord, even if the worst befalls me, it is no strange thing. So you tell me, 1 Cor. 16:13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. Help me act like a man without being of men. I will do this by aiding, befriending, teaching, comforting and instructing with your Spirits help, but not sinning. Help me keep from compromising the faith, either to escape a frown or to win a smile, as I bridge the great gulf between the church and the world. A bridge is better for both. Better for the church as we complete the mission; better for the world as the lost reach the kingdom. Continue to work, and to speak to others through my life, Lord Jesus. Make me willing (like you) to bear the cross in order to proclaim your gospel. Amen. FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY Chronological Bible Reading: Numbers 31-33; Mark 6:1-28 Friday, February 28 Col. 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. Savior and Lord: Though your Spirit has turned our mind by toward holiness, there is still a death within. The old nature strives against the life of God, and the members of our body often join-in with our corrupt nature to try and lead us astray. We cry out to you to deliver us because of this! We thank you Jesus gives the victory, but we long to have that victory more consistently realized and more completely experienced. We seek you for it. We lie in the very dust before your feet because of our sins, and yet at the same time we rejoice in the great Sin-bearer who put away our sin by his precious blood. We thank you we are now accepted in the Beloved. Even this does not content us. We are crying for the work of the Holy Spirit in our midst! Lord, you know the groanings of our heart. Our prayers right now cannot fully express it. We thank you there is One who makes intercession for us, with groanings that cannot be uttered (Rom. 8:26), who is with us and dwells in us, and is promised to be with us forever. We need your Spirit right now. We will overcome the doubts, we will win the victory, we will rise up from depression, we will conquer our fears and foes as your Spirit leads the way. Victory lies at the cross. We claim it in your matchless and fully-deserving name. Visit us with your Spirit this Sunday. We all want renewing, refreshing, reviving. Some have sunk very low by reason of physical sickness and mental suffering. But Lord, when our soul cleaves to the dust you can still quicken us by your word. We ask you to do that in our experience. Renew our first love for you. May the childlike faith of our first baby steps come back to us, so we can rest in the Lord and wait patiently for him. Amen. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: Numbers 25-27; Mark 5:1-21 Wednesday, February 26 2 Chron. 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Dear God, My Lord and King: Sad to say, I may be called by your name, but I dont always live up to it. What a mercy it is when I find you ready to forgive! My sins have only one lasting effect: to move me to seek your pardonto hasten me to the mercy seat because there I can both learn humility and display my dependence on you. My job is to humble myself. I am humbled, Lord. I am slain by the fact that, after receiving so much of your love, I still sin so badly. Lord, I bow before you in dust today at my own grievous ingratitude. Oh the infamy of my sins! And the sevenfold infamy that they show up in someone as blessed as I have been! I plead for your mercy, because I dont want just cleansing; I want deliverance from the power of sin. Lord hear me, and do not shut out my cry. I seek your face this week. I seek you for revival this year. If your Spirit leaves my presence because of my faults, then I implore you to return at my repentance. Look down on me today in your Son Jesus. Smile on all your servants out of our church, who likewise depend on you to be gracious in spite of their failings. Lord, we need you! As I turn from evil today, turn to me. You have provided a triple promise as a threat to the Devil: ! You will hear! ! You will pardon! ! You will heal! Grant me these three things immediately, because I come to you in Jesus matchless name, and on behalf of his bride, our church. Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: Numbers 34-36; Mark 6:29-56 Saturday, March 1 Psa. 89:15 Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance. We Have Heard the Joyful Sound! Praise is an especially joyful sound, and I look forward to rejoicing this Sunday with others. In the mean time, there is no hour in the day and no day in my life I cannot rejoice in the name, the person, the character, and the works of the Lord Jesus. My all-sufficient Lord is an all-sufficient source for rejoicing. Your righteousness rewards me and lifts me up. Your word encourages me, no matter what my past oppression or depression. Life would be filled with misery if I did not have you, Jesus! In you I have both righteousness and strength. You are my beauty and glory when I am strong in you. You are my comfort and encouragement when I tremble because of conscious weakness in myself. You have made me strong, but I must not glory in myself. I ascribe all honor to you alone, dear Lord. I have neither strength nor beauty apart from you. The lost need material prosperity to lift them up from despair; I find encouragement in the secret love of God. Psa. 89:34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. The almighty power of God abides permanently with you, Lord Jesus. You are redeemer and ruler of my life. We need you among us, so there will be no lack of power in our church! You have been gracious and faithful. Restore your glory on earth today by the presence of your Spirit and the enthroning of your Son! Reveal even now a foretaste of all your covenant holds for me in Christ Jesus. I exalt you as King of kings and Lord of lords forever. Amen.

PRAYER DIARY

1)

TIMEWORSHIP Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

" INTERCEDE WITH GOD " INSTRUCT SAINTS " PROMPT PETITIONS " KICKSTART DEVOTION

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
