Role & Charter

5. To impart institutional training to all ranks of Army Ordnance Corps, civilians and selected personnel of all Arms and Services, besides foreign countries to enable them to discharge materials management duties at different levels during peace and war. Charter 6. College of Materials Management is an academic centre which imparts training on the various facets of management/materials management including inventory control of items, encompassing varied disciplines viz munitions, armament, combat and non-combat vehicles, aviation, electronics, optics, opto-electronics and items of general stores and clothing. It also provides learning in human resources management, financial management Mud logistics to the various categories of personnel. The Hierarchical chain Commandant 7. CMM is commanded by a Lieutenant General. The Commandant is also the Principal of the College.

11. Imparts training in Warehouse Management and Inventory Control of Aviation, Opto-electronics, Engineering, Telecommunication, Combat Vehicles and General Stores Inventory.

Faculty of Logistic Support (FOLS)


12. To train Student Officers on Ordnance Functional Processes and Civilian Personnel Management. The Faculty is also responsible for training of Officers/Junior Commissioned Officers/Other Ranks of all arms and services on Quartermaster Duties.

University Cell
14. On being granted affiliation the College was advised to form a "University Cell" which could deal with the day to day academic problems, overall assessment of students, liaison with the University, University Grants Commission, Director of Technical Education, All India Council of Technical Education etc on various matters. This Cell was to contain elements of staff similar to that which are present in Universities in the Office of Registrar and Controller of Exams but on a reduced scale. 15 University Cell was raised in January 1991 combining elements of Registrar and Controller of Exams in a normal university. 16 (a ) Role of University Cell To maintain liaison, correspondence and interacting with: (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) (b) (c) (d) (e) (f) Rani Durgavati Vishwa Vidyalaya (ROW), Jabalpur. MBA (DLP)
Masters of Business Administration (Distance Learning Programme)

17. The College offers degree in Masters of Business Administration under Distance Learning Programme. MBA part time distance education programme is a three years course leading to the award of a Post Graduate Degree of MBA. The programme has been divided into six semesters spread over three years. There are a total of 21 courses including project work (equivalent to two courses) which must be successfully completed for award of the MBA Degree.
Eligibility

18. Seats

Bachelors degree in any stream from a recognized university.

19. Total Seats available are 100. 75% seats are reserved for defence personnel and their wards. Remaining 25%) seats are open to general category. However, if seats reserved for defence personnel and their wards are not filled, the unfilled seats will be offered to general category.
Selection Procedure

Selection for the MBA part time programme is through a Written Admission Test (WAT).

21. Last date of submission of the application form for-WAT is 31 Dec 2008-2009 Application is to be sent to Registrar, University Cell, College of Materials Management, Post -3, Jabalpur (MP) 482001. 22. 23. Written Admission Test (WAT) will be conducted on the second Sunday of February. Final Selection is based on the candidate's performance in the WAT and merit list made thereof.

(Not more than four courses (subjects) can be offered in one semester. 2 8. Specialization is restricted to one of the three streams only. One course of any chosen specialization is to be offered in the 3rd Semester. 29. Degree in Masters of Business Administration will be issued on completion of six semesters (21 courses).

Maximum permissible Duration 30. The MBA (DLP) Programme is designed to be completed in three years duration of six semesters, Candidates with valid reasons and with due approval of the Registrar, CMM may complete the course in five years. However, continuous absence from the course for three years (six semesters) or not completing the course in five years whichever is earlier, shall disqualify a candidate from the course, who will have to enroll as a fresh candidate, should he or she desire to complete the course. The course, once opted for, should be cleared within maximum of four semesters. Beyond this period a student will be required to seek RE-ADMISSION by paying fees of Rs.700/- and allowed to continue for another four Semesters. However, such a student will not be required to take entrance test again.
31. A student contemplating to avail a break in the course under the existing provisions should formally apply for the approval of the Registrar, CMM, before the last day for re-registration. If neither an application for break nor the reregistration form is received by the due date as indicated in the Schedule of Operation, the students shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the course and his/her name will be deleted from the rolls. 6

32. For appearing in the entrance test a candidate has to fill up APPLICATION FORM FOR WAT which is a part of this 'STUDENT HANDBOOK AND PROSPECTUS1. No other documents are required to be submitted along with this form. The entrance test will be held on the second Sunday of February from 10.00 am to 12.00 PM at the nominated centers. List of nominated centres is given at paragraph 46. A student will have to report 30 minutes before the start of examination. Admission 33. 34. Admission will be done on the basis of the marks obtained in WAT conducted all over India once a year. Result will be sent to successful candidates appearing in the WAT.

Fees Structure
Payment of fees 36. Registration fees of Rs. 200/- will only be recovered at the time of admission. For re-registration for subsequent semesters no fee shall be payable. However, when a student is deleted from the rolls seeks readmission, registration fee will have to be paid again. 37. Tuition fee per course (subject) to Rs. 700/-x04 subjects = 2.800/- per semester for semester -1,11, III & IV), Rs. 700x3= Rs. 2100.00 for Vth Semester and Rs. 1400.00 for Vlth semester. 38. Number of courses are prescribed per semester 7are indicated in para-26 above and tuition fee is payable in full. There cannot be partial registration for a few course out of the courses prescribed and a corresponding reduction in the fee payable. 39. Examination fees @ Rs. 1007- per course (as revised from time to time) will be charged. Examination fee once paid shall not be refunded nor adjusted against subsequent examinations on grounds of inability of student to appear for the examinations. 40. Registration fee alongwith tuition fee for first and second semester will be deposited during admission. Fees of any kind once paid will not be reimbursed under any circumstances including withdrawal of a student from the course. 41. All payments shall be remitted through a bank draft / Local crossed cheques drawn in favour of "CMM MBA" (DLP) Fund Account" payable at Jabalpur. No other mode of payment will be accepted. RDVV Enrolment 43. All students are required to enroll themselves with Rani Durgavati Vishwa Vidyalaya, Jabalpur for obtaining Degree Certificate from the University. The following documents along with Application Enrolment form duly filled in and the fees prescribed shall be submitted before the commencement of the 1st Term-End-Examination failing which they shall not be allowed to appear for any examination. Written Admission Test (WAT)


46. The WAT will be held on the Second Sunday of February in 15 centres across the country from 10:00 AM to 12.00 PM. These centers are as under: Jamrnu Delhi Cantt

The WAT will Comprise of one paper of 120 Questions (objective type only). Each question carries one mark, paper will be in English only and the question paper will have to be returned with answer booklet. 48. 49. One mark will be awarded for each correct answer. There will be no negative marking. Assignments for TEE


50. Assignments constitute the continuous evaluation. The submission of assignments is compulsory. The grade that Students get in Students assignments will be counted in Students final result. Assignments of a course carry 30% weightage while 70% weightage is given to the Term-End Examination. Therefore, students are advised to take their assignments seriously. Students will not be allowed to appear for the Term-End Examination for any course if a student does not submit the specified number of assignments in time for that course." 51. The main purpose of assignments is to test students' comprehension of the learning material which the students receive from us and also to help students get through the courses. The information given in the printed course material should be sufficient for answering the assignments. Please do not worry about the non-availability of extra reading material for working on the assignments. However, if you have easy access to other books, students may make use of them. But the assignments are designed in such a way as to help students concentrate mainly on the printed course materials and exploit students personal experience. 52. In case of any discrepancy regarding the set of material and assignment, contact Registrar, College of Materials Management, Post Box No 3, Jabalpur (MP) 482001 (Phone: 0761-2726532, 2604455). 53. The assignment responses should be complete in all respects. The tutor marked assignments, are to be submitted on response sheets to the Registrar, College of Materials Management, Post Box No 3, Jabalpur. After evaluation these tutor marked assignments will be sent back with comments and grade. 54. The College has the right not to entertain or reject the assignments submitted after the due date. Students are, therefore, advised to submit the assignments before the due date. 55. If students do not get pass grade in any assignment, they have to submit it again. For this students have to ask for/obtain a fresh set of assignments for that course, applicable to the particular semester. However, once the students get the pass grade in an assignment, they cannot re-submit it for improvement of grade. Assignments are not subject to re-evaluation except for factual errors, if any, committed by the evaluator. The discrepancy noticed by the students in the evaluated assignments should be brought to the notice of the Registrar, College of Materials Management, Post Box No 3, Jabalpur so that the correct score is maintained in the records.

Personal Contact Programme (PCP)


56. Personal Contact Programme is compulsory. The attendance in the programme stands for the validity for the Term-End-Examination. The Contact Programme includes regular classes from 08.00 hrs to 16.00 hrs with Tea and Lunch breaks (in between) continuously for 6 days followed by TEE for 4 days. The Contact Programme is intended to facilitate interactions among students, undertaking the courses and clarifying doubts. No detailed coverage of the entire course is possible. The programme will be held at University Cell of the College. 57. The programme will cover courses of regular Semesters as under :(a) (b) Summer session Winter session (June) (December) Even No. of Semesters only. Odd No. of Semesters only.

Note : No Contact Programme will be held for backlog subject. Detailed Joining/Administrative instructions shall be issued to the students one month in advance. 58. Accommodation and messing shall be arranged by the students. However the college for such in exceptional circumstances; if requested may provide such arrangement subject to availability only.

Term End - Examination


59. The Term-End-Examination carries 70% weightage in the final result. Examination will be held in the months of June and December every year. The students are at liberty to appear for any of the examinations conducted by the College during the year subject to completing the minimum time frame work prescribed for the course pursued. 60. If a student misses any Term-End-Examination or fails to get pass grade in a course, he/she may appear for any of them or all in the subsequent Term-End-Examination. This facility will be available until a student secures a minimum pass grade in such papers but upto a maximum period of four semesters since the date of registration of the courses. 61. The following components will comprise the Term-End-Examination for each course:(a) (b) Analytical and conceptual comprehension through essay type question. Cases of problem solving exercises.

62. To be eligible to appear in the Term-End-Examination in any course the student should fulfill the following conditions: (a) (b) (c) (d) Should have been registered for the course. Should complete the submission of assignments for the respective course.

63. Students shall desist from indulging in unfair practices during examinations. Such cases of misconduct shall be dealt with severely. 64. Mark sheets shall be despatched to students after the results of each Term-End-Examination are declared. 66. For successfully qualifying a course, a student will have to obtain at least "C" Grade in both contiuous and TermEnd-Examination. However, the overall average should be at least "C+" Grade for the successful completion of a course. 67. If a student gets pass grade both in assignments and Term-End-Examination, but fails to secure an aggregate 50% marks in a course, he/she has the option to improve the marks either by submitting a fresh assignment and reappearing in the TEE or re-appearing in the TEE only. 68. There is no provision for re- appearing in an examination or re-submission of assignment for improvement of the marks against subjects already declared passed.
