Senior Consultant - Job Description

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for senior level performance in all areas related to Vivid Solutions provision of technical and business solutions to clients. The customer base consists of public and private sector agencies and businesses employing diverse information management environments.

TECHNICAL
Provide senior level programming as required. Provide process, data and object modeling in a variety of application and database environments. Provide database design, development, and enhancement, as well as management and coordination of changes to existing applications. Provide technical architecture analysis, design, development, and enhancement. Maintain senior level expertise and currency in industry leading information management technologies.

PROJECTS
Serve as Project Lead or Project Manager via management of end to end system life cycle development of major projects. Oversee minor projects being lead by intermediate level staff under your supervision. Develop costing proposals for projects, perform risk analysis, and manage change control. Provide business analysis, business area assessment, user needs analysis and business systems design for major projects. Conduct comprehensive cost/benefit analysis and prepare business cases for projects.

BUSINESS
Present a professional image in conduct, attitude and attire. Assist with the development of client information management standards and evaluation of technology trends. Contribute to business area assessment, user needs analysis and business systems design. Assist with comprehensive cost/benefit analysis and preparation of business cases for new projects.

SUPERVISORY
Supervise and mentor all intermediate and junior level Vivid Solutions staff assigned as members of your project team Supervise during project life cycle any intermediate or junior level client staff, or any sub-contracted personnel assigned to your project team. Senior Consultant - Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS
MANDATORY
Minimum of an undergraduate degree or recognized technical diploma in Computer Science or related field, and a minimum eight years demonstrable experience at a senior level in the information management and systems environment. Provide a confirmed working history that demonstrates excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving aptitude. Present outstanding leadership capabilities, illustrating proficiency in both verbal and written communications. Exemplify a high degree of personal integrity and interpersonal skills and abilities. Prove a willingness to commit the additional time and effort necessary during periods of heavy workload in order to meet project milestones, implementation deadlines and the like. A proven senior level knowledge of, and proven hands on experience in: Application design, development and implementation of medium to large database projects. Excellent written and oral communications skills. Current data management methodologies, technologies and standards. Project management utilizing the full systems development life cycle. Supervision of project teams consisting of five personnel or more. Possess a sound working knowledge of, and significant hands on experience with, at least two of the following: Java utilizing J2EE. Microsoft .NET. Oracle Application Development (Forms and/or Reports). Database design, development, and enhancement within either the Oracle DBMS or the MS SQL Server DBMS. Spatial Data Management Technologies. Strong skills in WEB application development. Business or Systems Analysis. Project Management.

DESIRABLE
Ability to define application architectures in a large, complex computing environment.
