Introduction to Economics
Explanatory note: Please note that in 2014 the examination for EC1002 will be split into two sections. Part I will consist of 30 multiple choice questions covering the entire syllabus in micro and macro. Candidates are required to answer ALL the questions for which the maximum mark will be 50. Candidate will have an hour and a half to answer the questions in Part I after which there will be a short break before the examination paper for Part II is distributed. Part II of the examination will be divided into two sections. Section A consists of the long questions in Microeconomics and Section B consists of the longer questions in Macroeconomics. There will be three questions in each section and candidates will be required to answer one from each section. Candidates will have an hour and a half to complete Part II. The rubric: This is Part I of the examination, which consists of Multiple Choice Questions. You have 90 minutes and you should attempt to answer ALL the questions. Each question has FOUR possible answers (a-d). There is only ONE correct answer to each of the questions. Please mark the correct answer in the special sheet provided. The maximum mark for this part is 50. There will then be a break and the second part of the examination will have the following rubric: This is Part II of the examination. Please answer ONE question from Section A and ONE question from Section B. Part II is worth 50% of the mark and each of the questions in Sections A and B is worth 25%.
