1.1:

The Arabic Alphabet :

Note: you have to stick your tongue outside your teeth when you
say the following three letters:

For the rest of the letters, the tongue stays inside the teeth,

Qalqala

These are letters which when a sukon is present they are at


unrest or bounced

Qalqala consists of 3 types:


(i) small Qalqala: the letter is not at the end of the word
(ii) medium Qalqala: the letter is at the end of the word
(iii) great Qalqala: the letter is at the end of the word + shadda

Small Qalqala:

Note: the last example (right to left order) does not have Qalqala on
the first

as there is no sukon present.

So, when we stop at any word we put a sukon on the last letter, this
is why we bounce the:

So, when we decide not to carry on, i.e. stop at any word, we put a
sukon on the last letter instead of its normal vowel point, This
.practice is known as the artificial sukon
