Children of Simone Pele, inner city Port au Prince, watching us do prenatals .

By His Grace...

Two week old chicks huddled for warmth, eating their feed.

When I learned last month that partnership with the government for the clinic was impossible, I was confused as to how to proceed. So naturally, I turned to Him in prayer. When He told me to trust Him to provide for a privately funded Is there clinic, I smiled wryly in doubt... trying not to anything laugh. -- Right! I complained, Im suppose to buy too hard medicines for this whole community. Hundreds of for the people a day... thousands of people a month! Lord? -- No, God chided, Im going to buy the Gen 18:14 medicines for them. Sweet child, remember that I love them more than you ever could. I care for them.... and I will do this, not you. Oh! If I could have dug out my own tongue at that point I would have. How long-suffering and patient He is with me! The great news is the government is VERY happy to let us open privately and all the obstacles that once were .... are no more. Oh! Praise Him! Please pray for my faith to increase and for me to stand on this promise. And ask God to open up the heavens and pour out all that we need, according to His abundant riches in Christ! --Stephanie

Prayer requests!
Ill be hiring a nurse and maintenance staff for the clinic soon. Pray for massive wisdom and discernment for the right staff! Since the clinic will be private, Ill need more funds to buy the medicines and pay the salaries. Please pray for God to move upon the hearts of His givers. My papers are still stuck in Maputo. I need to go and sort them out soon, but there are obstacles. Pray for them to come through w/o bribes. The chickens are doing well, but well need lots of favor when it comes to selling them. Please pray that God would send me a farmer/ missionary who can help me w/ them!

My blog is updated regularly... Check it out and enjoy!

The Chicken Report.

The first batch of chicks have morphed from precious, little balls of fluff to awkward, gangly, preadolescent freaks. Id like to accuse them of being cute... but lying is wrong. The worse part is that they seriously stink! Im so glad I decided against putting them in my Day old chicks are so cute... back yard! Ha! However, the best part is the fact they are doing really, really well. In fact, they are doing so well everyone is in awe. What with all the unseasonable cold and constant monsoons... a lot more of them were expected to die. Im just flat out humbled God has favored it so much! Please continue to pray, however, as the second batch of chicks arrive in two weeks and this batch will start being sold soon. Pray we can sell them quickly without too much stress. Thanks!

Sweet Snapshots!

The almost puppy.

Last december, a missionary friend dropped in for the holidays. While she was here, she told us about a VERY large litter of puppies she didnt know what to do with. And naturally, we all asked for one! The only hitch was wed have to This puppy happily made her destination. pick them up. But when it came time to get them, the roads were impassible due to the rain. After weeks of deliberation (and no decrease in rain!), she finally put them on a train to the nearest city! But on the day I was to get them, even THAT road was impassible! A dam had broken, raising the water level to several feet above the road. What were we to do? The puppies were already on the way! ! Fortunately, a pastor in Beira stepped up to help. But during the days it took for the flood to recede, one of the puppies (mine!) died. Im told it was because he ate a chameleon. Oy Vey!
