Essay:
The events of 9/11 caused many people to reflect on what it means to be an American and live in a free and democratic society. Sometimes it means taking on duties and responsibilities that benefit ones fellow citizens, and actively participating in civil, political and community affairs. In a minimum of 500 words, discuss the following and be sure to answer each question within your essay: What does it mean to live in a democratic society and what are some values you believe are associated with a democratic way of life? How have these values motivated you to become involved in helping your community, school, and/or fellow citizens? Describe a specific project or activity you developed or participated in that provided service to others; and What was the impact of that experience on your life?
Use the Teacher/Guidance Counselor Letter of Support Form available on the College Now website, and submit it along with all the other required documents. Do not mail it in separately.
