No Roads, only single road, deep run-offs, only gravel, one of the worst, had to go on 2nd and 3rd gear for 35 kms. Great open country, agricultural communities, villages, cattle on the road and wide open country. Road improves from here, beautiful surface for the next 22 kms.

Great toll roads, lovely surface till Hoshangabad - 94 kms. Need caution on curves, cattle appear out of nowhere. Rs. 18/Fender hit and bounced a calf off the road with force, lucky no damage to calf and car. Gave full respect to cattle after that !!!!!!!!! Rs.15/Rs.27/- SH-22 Lovely, lovely green fields changing to open country to hillocks interspaced with sal / team forests, amazing jig-saw landscapes. Clean Economic Place; best hotel in Pipariya Reliable place to tank up, there are 2 Petrol Bunks here. LT=Chindwara and Nagpur Need to enter details and keep the slip for exit. Rs.26/- for 3 days. Decent service and a exceptionally resourceful "Mali"

Maihar Cement Factory Gate 13/Missed road here, correct route is Maihar, Unchehera, Dhanera, Amadari and Nagod, this bypasses busy Satna town, saves time. Rs.13/Caught in railway gate closure for 15 minutes Touched Satna, extra 12 kms + 40 mts. S=Bophal-599, Gwalior-390kms, Kanha-72, Chitrakut-78 Good roads for 36 kms, great flat open forest country. Navigated out of town with GPS, Bhopal very well detailed on Destinator 4 track work on with switch backs for next 40 kms, good surface 4 track bypasses Sehore, 4 track ends here, bumpy busy 2 track Very bouncy till Dewas, triacle thick truck / tractor / cattle traffic Rs.20/-, NH3, Lovely 4 track begins here, goes down to Mumbai Rs.10/Lost lots of time getting out of town, should take BP for another 20 kms to get out clean off the Indore city traffic. Traffic blocks due to election nomination process NH59 LT= Mhow / Mumbai, ST=Ratlam-97 Traffic block, long route to BP through town due to traffic block Bad Patch- Bumpy, pot holed bone shaking ride for 70 kms.

10 km block, off-roading 4 kms thro fields and sliding downhill!!!!! Smooth, well marked roads, a pleasure to drive, can speed up from here on, great relief to rest left hand and leg.

Mileage: Usedd 305 Ltrs of Diesel for 3172 kms = 10.4 km per ltr (approximate calculation). Mileage is low due to very bad sections throughout MP, sudden cattle stops and spirited driving. Handling: Very few cars could have taken the pounding by bad roads, off-road demands and come out unscatched. MP Roads: Bad compared to Rajastan, Gujarat, Maharashtra but improving fast as reported by everyone. GPS: Destinator, "India One" Map good in cities, about 25% of secondary roads were shown innacurate, off track.
