(Venus/Neptune) Dec. 16, 2013 I. Objectives: 1. Enumerate the different Basic Skills of Table Tennis. 2. Demonstrate the Basic Skills in playing Table Tennis. 3. Execute the Basic Skill in Playing Table Tennis. Motivation Good morning/afternoon class! Today we will have a game. Form 5 groups with 9 members. The name of the game is Bouncer. You must make 20 Forehand, 20 Backhand and 20 Combo bounce. Each group will have a 1 representative. Now choose your representative.

Now you will make 20 each Forehand, Backhand and Combo without falling of the ball in the ground or floor. Is that clear? At the count of three you will start. One! Two! Three! Congrats to the winners you will receive a reward and to the other participants will have 3 points in participating. B. Lesson Proper Lets proceed to our lesson about the basic skill in playing table tennis. First are the Grips. Anyone knows what the Grip is?

Madam, it is the manner or style of gripping the racket to control the ball.

Good! There are two basic styles in gripping,

the Shakehand Grip also known as International Grip. (demonstrate the shakehand/international grip) Who can execute the shakehand/International Grip? Okay, the second one is the Penhold Grip. What is the popular kind of Penhold? Right! Chinese Drip is like you are holding a pen and remaining fingers are curled at the back face of the racket. (Demonstrating while talking) There is another kind of Penhold Grip. The Korean/Japanese Penhold Grip. Who can execute the Korean/Japanese Penhold Grip? Good! Lets continue to next skill the Footwork and Stance. I will demonstrate first and after that you will execute it, okay? (Demonstration no.1-Footwork) Bend your knees slightly. Second, take a short step to the left with your left foot. Bring your left together by moving the right foot, then move your left foot again balance position. (Demonstration no.2-Stance) Can you give an instruction for stance and body position? Okay, what else? And also racket should be table height and in front of the body. The third skill, the stroke. Who can identify the strokes in playing the table tennis? Correct! (Demonstration no. 3 Strokes) Forehand drive in playing table tennis you must strike the top back part of the ball with a forceful brush in an upward direction. Who can execute the forehand drive? Second Task- Do Footwork and Stance with the movement of Forehand Drive 10 times side by side. Third Task- Do Footwork and Stance with the movements of Backhand Drive 10 times side by side. D. Generalization Now lets have a review, what are the Basic Skills in Playing Table Tennis? Correct! Give the names of the Different types of Grips. Good! What are the basic Strokes in playing Table Tennis? Thats Right! In playing table tennis there are skilled that developed related to fitness health. The speed, agility, concentration and the eye-hand concentration. Now we will have a short quiz. IV. Evaluation:
