of 9.55% per annum. Construction industry grew a 34% in the first 3
months of 2009. Panama 2020 Tourism Master Plan established in
32,840 the number of new hotel rooms needed to fulfill the demand.
Not only hotels, but also gambling industry has become very
attractive for investors as well, especially after the promotion of
Panama as a leisure destination. Furthermore, Panama has had a
positive 8% average GDP rate in the last 4 years. More than 100 banks
operate from Panama, making the financial center the second
biggest in the world after Switzerland by the number of banks. Colon Caribbean Beaches
Free Trade Zone is the second biggest in the world after Hong Kong
and the biggest in the Occidental Hemisphere. After the complexion
of the Panama Canal’s third set of locks, we are expecting to
increase commercial spaces and show rooms demand due to the
capacity of merchandise that we will be able to handle and the
convenience of new mega ports and multimodal and logistical
centers created to support the establishment of trading and other
