Travel Chart
It is a tabular record for presenting quantitative data about the movement of workers, materials or equipment between any number of places over any given period of time. It shows the volumetric data during travel between work-area. It is a more detailed type of movement chart in which the recorded details are like:

Pattern of movement Extent of movement or volume.

It is used for studying layout problem in deciding how to minimize total flow (of material) in the plant or work-place.

Multi Activity Chart

It is a chart on which the activities of more than one subject (like worker, machine or equipment) are each recorded on a common time-scale to show their relationship. It is constructed using the following process

Start with the preparation of flow process chart for elements like machine or operative involved in the process. Group activities to be recorded into convenient elements for time-study. Take sufficient observations of time-study for determining accurate elemental time. Draw in the form of bar-chart for each activity of the leading operative or machine. Take a common scale such as time for each activity. Use different color codes for different sections within each bar. Calculate the amount of effective work per cycle in percentage of total time.

It is used in the following situations

For preliminary investigation to study the extent of accuracy of particular activities Helps in balancing activities In a situation of one operative running one or several operatives In a situation of several operatives running one or several machines A team of operatives or a bank of machines

Operation Process Chart

The operation process chart shows the chronological sequence of all operations, inspections, time allowances, and materials used in a manufacturing or business process, from the arrival of raw material to the packaging of the finished product. The chart depicts the entrance of all components and subassemblies to the main assembly. Two symbols are used in constructing the operation process chart: an operation and an inspection

Man and machine process chart

The man and machine process chart is used to study, analyze, and improve one workstation at a time. The chart shows the exact time relationship between the working cycle of the person and operating cycle of the machine. These facts can lead to utilization of both worker and machine time, and a better balance of the work cycle. Many machine tools are either completely automatic or semi-automatic. The operator is often idle for a proportion of the cycle. The utilization of this idle time can increase operator earnings and improve production efficiency

Gang Process Chart

The gang process chart is an adaptation of the worker and machine process chart. The gang process chart shows the exact relationship between the idle and operating cycle of the machine and the idle and operating times per cycle of the workers who service that machine. This chart reveals the possibilities for improvement is reducing both idle operator time and idle machine time
