Academic qualification or work experience which do you think is more important for building a career?

This topic has always been debated since ages whether academic qualification or work experience which is more important to build a career?

History is a witness that there have been people with virtually no academic qualifications but have done wonders for the mankind. One such prominent example is Dhirubhai Ambani who was not even 10th Std pass but still created an empire that rules the petroleum, textile, telecommunications industry of India. His street smart ideas, vision, ability to look at opportunities that were not seen by others were not learned at any school but were gained by working at the ground level. Another such example is Sachin Tendulkar who has barely made a mark in the field of education but is the most renowned face in the field of cricket. Sachin made his debut at the age of 16. Since then, he has reached the pinnacle of the cricketing world.

On the other hand, there are people who have gained education and reached the top positions in their respective fields. One such example is the Prime minister of our country, Mr. Manmohan Singh. He is a renowned academician and has a no. of education qualifications. These qualifications helped him become the Governor of Reserve Bank of India in the early 90s and consequently, he took India out of major financial crisis and gave India a prominent position in the world. Therefore, it is difficult to conclude whether a persons career will prosper only if there is a backing of good education qualification or whether only work experience will help in achieving success. Most of the times, it is a combination of the two wherein the application of ones education in the industry helps in climbing the success ladder.

Medias responsibility in covering sensitive issues.

Media has become one of the major factor that helps in forming public opinion. It is the connection between the common man and the things that go around him. Thus, it is the responsibility of media to produce good quality content for its viewers that is impartial and factual.

But many times it is seen that media is not playing its role as per the ethics and tries to formulate a public opinion for its own vested interests. These media actions may be a conclusion to give political mileage to a certain political/social group or for a competitive edge over its own peers.

While covering events like a terrorist attack, media has un-intentionally helped the terrorists by showing live images of the counter operations. During a social procession, media has provoked the participants to get violent and disturb the social harmony. Many sport persons houses have been attacked after the media sensationalized their under-performances. The media has also disturbed the personal lives of celebrities by keeping a constant eye on their day-to-day activities. The advertisements of various firms do not show the true potential of their products.

So it becomes imperative on part of the media that its actions should not have adverse effects on its audience. The job of the media is to transfer un-edited, un-biased information from the source to the audience and carry back the opinion to those who formed the news. If the media remains bothered about managing its own economics, then the purpose for which the media is created, might get be defeated.
