1. Recognition of IRIS for Person Identification

C. Soma Sundar Reddy, K.Durga Sreenivas / International Journal of Engineering Research and Applications (IJERA) ISSN: 2248-9622 www.ijera.com Vol. 3, Issue 2, March -April 2013, pp.834-838

In this paper, it includes the preprocessing system, segmentation, feature extraction and recognition. Aim and Scope of the Project : The aim of our project is to capture the eye image and performing segmentation process to get the iris and the same segmentation process is done for the data present in database and by using hamming distance we are able to say whether the person is authenticated or not.

2. An Efficient Feature Extraction Method for Iris Recognition Based on Wavelet Transformation
International Journal of Computer and Information Technology (ISSN: 2279 0764) Volume 02 Issue 03, May 2013 In this paper, a new approach of iris image compression and feature extraction based on discrete wavelet transformation (DWT) is applied. The obtained features dimensionality were further reduced by using principle component analysis(PCA), which drastically reduces the size of the iris database images. In the matching stage, a supervised classifier is introduced, namely, k-nearest neighbor (k-NN). The classification attained was 99.5%.

3. IRIS Recognition: A Review

Segmentation: The color image is converted into shade of gray. That is brightness or luminance of color image is converted into gray shade by using formula Y=0.3RED+0.59GREEN+0.11BLUE

Histogram Equalization : The contrast enhancement of the image is accomplished by means of histogram equalization in order to use the full spectrum of gray levels, hence the textures are highlighted. ENCODING/FEATURE EXTRACTION Each isolated iris pattern is then encoded using DWT - DCT method to extract its binary information.

4. A Survey: Feature Extraction Methods for Iris Recognition

International Journal of Electronics Communication and Computer Technology (IJECCT) Volume 2 Issue 6 (November 2012)

In this paper, a survey on different feature extraction algorithms is made. A. Corner Detection Based Iris Encoding B. Feature extraction using Haar wavelet C. Feature extraction using Gabor filter D. Statistical pattern recognition E. Multichannel Gabor Filter Once the features of iris are extracted we are required to match the iris template with the available in the database. The Hamming distance algorithm employed for matching.

5. Iris Recognition System Using Fractal Dimensions of Haar Patterns

International Journal of Signal Processing, Image Processing and Pattern Recognition Vol. 2, No.3, September 2009

A. Iris segmentation, where the iris is localized and isolated from the noise due to sclera, pupil, eyelids and eyelashes B. Normalization, where iris is mapped from polar domain to rectangular domain C. Decomposition, where the rectangular entity is projected onto 5 level haar wavelet to decompose into deterministic patterns D. Reduction of feature space , the coefficients that represent the core of the iris pattern are retained and that reveal redundant information are eliminated E. Box counting method is used to find the fractal dimensions of each pattern and feature set is developed with the help of these dimensions F. Classification, both probabilistic and non probabilistic classifiers such as bayes, euclidean and k-nearest neighbor and weighted euclidean are used in the experiment.
