Korea: In this unit students will learn English Grammar in the reading textbook. Students will explain what the text says explicitly and inferences from the text. This unit will use online learning. Grade/Year: 10th grade (The age of students is between 16 and17 years old) Subject: English comprehension with Grammar Standard (as written): Grammar standard: ECG 10 will learn 8 parts of the speech and their functions in the sentence. ECG 10 will learn that the functions of noun are subject, direct object, indirect object, subject complement, object complement. ECG 10 will learn that the types of noun are common and proper noun, pronoun, countable and non-countable noun, abstract and concrete noun, singular and plural noun, possessive and collective noun. This includes the different meaning of noun with article or determiner ECG 10 will learn types of adverb and the modified elements. ECG 10 will learn forms of verbs and function including aspect, tense, mood, and voice. ECG 10 will learn types of adjective and the forms of adjective. ECG 10 will learn types of sentences, the order of sentence, and relative clauses. ECG 10 compare different functions of adverbs and adjectives. ECG 10 analyze the functions of the parts of speech. Reading Comprehension standard: ECG 10 interpret compound and complex sentences. ECG 10 summarize the text and describe the authors point of view. ECG 10 figure out the elements contribute to the meaning. ECG 10 explain historical, scientific, and technical information.

To gain knowledge of the functions of noun are subject, direct object, indirect object, subject complement, object complement. To figure out adverbs modify a noun, a pronoun, an adverb, a verb, an adjective noun phrase, whole sentence. It comes before modified word while being modified verb come after verb. To strengthen interpretation of usages of adverbs. To develop difference between adverb spelling and adjective. To practice irregular adverbs in his own journal. To analyze parts of speech specific articles through online news. To practice accurate usage adverbs such as place, manner, time adverbs, and conjunctive adverbs.
