will be sent to the homes of registered Douglas County voters in early October. Voters
may select one candidate in each of the four districts that are up for election. Therefore
they will be able to vote for a total of four candidates. Election day is November 3.

Dear DouglasCounty Employees,

As you are well aware,about a year ago, weheld a BondandBudgetElection

that failed. Becauseof this andthe state of the state andnation, weare seeing
unprecedented budgetcuts. TheDouglasCountyFederationis well awareof the
fact that this has impactedall our employees with morework, less manpower,
biggerclass sizes, potential salary freezes,eta

Weare nowfacing anotherelection. Ourschool boardhas four out of seven

seatsup for election. It is imperativethat weworkhardto ensurethat the right
peoplefill theseseats. Peoplethat will supportour philosophyandideasfor
future contracts. Wewant to ensurethat the newlyelected boardmembers have
employees andstudentsbest interest at heart. Thereare peoplerunningin this
election that believe that weshouldnot hold anotherbondandbudgetelection
for years. Othershavebeenknownto say that our employees are already over
paid. Theseare not the peoplewewant on the board.

Wecannotstress enoughhow, now, morethan ever, weneedpeople to step up

andhelp us with this election. Wehaveaskedyour DCFbuilding rap to try to find
someone at yourbuildingto serveasa political liaison. If youare receivingthis, it
is because your schooldoesnot havea political liaison. This personwouldserve
as a go between for the Union,the District, andtheir school/site/community. The
liaison will be expectedto attend onetraining next weekanddisseminate
informationandrecruit volunteers. Whileweunderstandthat everyoneis very
busythis mustbecome a priority. If weworktogether, wecanfulfill our goal of
ensuringa successfulfuture for the employees andstudentsof the Douglas
CountySchoolDistrict. Pleaseconsidervolunteeringfor this ever so important
