Rules and guidelines for participants Theme: Pieces of a Puzzle

General guidelines
Each entry, except Fusion Category, can only represent one country. One competitive category cannot have multiple entries from the same country. Competitive categories MUST be performed by registered AIT students, faculty or staff. PowerPoint presentations/videos are allowed for all. However, it is the responsibility of each performing group to ensure that presentations or videos are playable on the equipment provided. Theme of the show should be incorporated in all categories that contain the judging criteria Projection of theme. Vulgarity shall not be tolerated during the show in any performance. The Student Union reserves the right to disqualify any performance considered to be vulgar. The number of prizes in each category would change depending on the number of registrations. Please be aware of the time limit for preparation and performance. Penalty for each minute exceeded is -5 points from the total score obtained. Each submission should contain the name(s) and ID number(s) of the participant(s).

Dance
(Time 5 Mins) Any presentations or videos about the dance form presented should be included in the time slot for the performance. Fusion Dance requires two (2) nationalities participating in equal proportions (50:50 ratio from each nationality). Competitive Dance can be either solo, duet or group. Competitive dance can be any dance, except for the one performed for the Traditional Dance.

Music & Singing


(Time 5 Mins) The singer must be performing live (mandatory). Instrumental background music can be recorded or played live; its up to the performer(s). If a singer is accompanied by live instruments, it will fall under the Group category. Singer(s) playing his/her own instrument will be considered under Solo. Any country may take part in either Duet or Solo, but not both. Fusion requires two (2) nationalities participating in equal proportions (50:50 ratios from nationality).

Drama (competitive)
(Time 10 Mins) Any presentations or videos about the drama performed should be included in the time slot allocated. A total of two (2) minutes will be allocated for initial set up of props, thereafter any changes will be included in the allocated time. It is required that the performance will be understandable by using English language.

Talent show (competitive)


(Time 5 Mins) Strictly no singing and dancing allowed. The Student Union reserves the right to disqualify any singing and dancing items. Any special props or instruments required for the act should be arranged by the participant(s). A maximum of two (2) persons are allowed to perform under one act.

Mr. & Ms. AIT Fashion Walk (competitive) Previous participants of Mr. & Ms. AIT Fashion walk are restricted from participating again. Only one (1) participant from each gender can represent each country.
