ABOUT THE PLACE

(KUALA LUMPUR BIRD PARK, MALAYSIA)

KL BIRD PARK is located in the serene and scenic Kuala Lumpur Lake Garden. It is only take
about 10 minutes drive away from the city centre of Kuala Lumpur. KL Bird Park is a home
where more than 3,000 birds are group together in a same place. It was approximately about
200 species of local and foreign birds in these park.

KL Bird Park area is approximately 20.9 acres of verdant terrain and the park is divided
into 4 zones. For Zone 1 and 2 it specially for the free-flight zone, where Zone 3 is the Hornbill
Park and the last one Zone 4 is the area where the birds are placed in separate cages and mini
aviaries. One of the KL Bird Parks extraordinary feature is their Zone 1, 2 and 3. This is

because the birds are let free in the aviary which closely resembles their natural habitat. With
this free-flight concept, birds are able to breed naturally in this unique environment.
While visiting this bird park, visitors will have an exciting experience of watching colourful
and melodic birds perching and winging about freely while relaxing in a natural and beautiful
landscaped surrounding. KL Bird Park is also reputed to be the largest walk-in free- flight aviary
in the world.

When we talk about the concept that is used in Kl Bird Park, is the concept of free-flight.
One of the most prominent evidence that these birds have adapted so well to this environment
and they are able to breed naturally. The availability of the suitable nesting sites, bountiful
sources of fallen leaves, branches and twiqs make KL Bird Park a highly conducive environment
for breeding session.

Talking so much about KL Bird Park, to enter and make a visit in this park, visitor must
have a valid ticket to enter KL Bird Park. The normal price for the visiting ticket is RM48 for an
adult and RM38 for children. But discount is give to the Malaysian that already have their
MyKad or MyKid. RM25 for an adult and RM12 for the children. To visit this bird park, it was
opened daily from 9.00am until 6.00p.m.
Instead of served a beautiful bird environment, there are many facilities that has been
served in KL Bird Park. For example restaurant, gift shop, playground, restroom, resting hut and
shelter, benches, prayer room and etc. Then, there are many exciting activity that can be done
by the visitors in KL Bird Park. The daily activities that served in the park is photography with
birds, hornbills feeding, bird show, milky stork feeding, parrots and lories feeding and etc. for
every activity, it has their own schedule when the activity will happen.

RESEARCH SCOPE
For this assignment, we have choose KL Bird park as our research place. As one of the places
that many visitor do their visit, KL Bird Park has to be up to date in terms of their environmental
graphic. It is to help visitor to more understand and feel more attracted to visit this park. Some of
the problem that we have find out in this park, every signboard is just look so simple and clise.
As a park that has their own concept, their environmental graphic also can be improve to follow
their concept. Below are some of the environmental graphic in KL Bird Park.
